Encounter Worship is a series that has been around for five albums now, every so often a new album would pop out and deliver a selection of contemporary worship songs that are used in times of praise. OK, so the cynical side of you might think "Why do we need these tracks again?" and you would be right if you have the previous five albums already, leave this album be, this isn't for you. Even if you have a few of the albums, this might not be the next album you should buy.
Yet saying all that, if you look at this album as a one off, the track listing is stunning, it really is full of some of the best songs that have impacted the church, every song is great to be used in times of worship to God.
As said, The Best of Encounter Worship album includes some of the best known songs which include Matt Redman's 'This Is How We Know', 'Blessed Be Your Name' and 'You Alone Can Rescue', Tim Hughes' 'Happy Day', Chris Tomlin's 'How Great Is Our God' and 'Famous One', 'Mighty To Save' by Reuben Morgan, 'Hosanna' by Brooke Fraser.
All in all, there are positive and negative points to this album. If you have the majority of the Encounter Worship Series albums, this isn't for you, but on the other hand buy the album if you want a comprehensive album full of great strong songs written by some of the best lyricist and songwriters of this generation.
