Read More We are at series 4 of the Encounter Worship installment which has been described as "The very best of the very latest - and most urgent - songs lighting up worship services around the world today". All the tracks from this album have been re-worked and re-recorded with an ear for accessibility for worship leaders to show how they can be used in the Sunday worship service. The selection of tracks of this album is amazing, I couldn't have picked a better list of songs that are having an impact on the church at the moment in the UK. The album was produced by Mr Paul Burton and includes tracks by Hillsong United, Matt Redman, Delirious and Tim Hughes.

The album is 18 tracks long and starts with a cover of Tomlin's song "How Can I Keep From Singing" which is very similar in style to the original studio recording. The album then moves onto the amazing "Dance" which isn't a bad version at all. Next are two new Matt Redman songs, "You Alone Can Rescue" and "This is How We Know" from his album "We Shall not be Shaken". The covers are sung by Cathy Burton and she really does a great job of making them her own. The album also contains Compassionart track "So Great", a version of which also featured on the worship Central Album "Lifting High", so it would seem that this is definitely a track having an impact on the church. The album ends with a slightly below par version of the new Delirious classic "My Soul Sings", but to be fair this is a one-off on an album where most of the versions are as good as the originals.

This has to be the best put together selection of songs that have been released from different albums in the last few years, and the perfect selection to take to your church to be used in your time of worship. At times I did prefer the album versions of the tracks as the studio versions seem to have the original writers feel to the song, which you would get from that person singing or playing on the track. What this album is aimed at though is to be a tool for all worship leaders to hear versions of these songs that are having an impact on the church and to show a way of these songs being used in the local church worship teams.
