Guvna B Leads Best Gospel Nominations At 2013 MOBO Awards

British urban contemporary gospel rapper and composer Guvna B once again leads the nominations for this year's MOBO Awards.

The nominations for the MOBO Awards 2013, the biggest urban music event in Europe, were announced last night, 3rd September, at a star studded event held at The London Connaught Rooms.

In the Best Gospel category, Guvna B is joined by El-Mafrex, Lurine Cato, IDMC and Sandra Godley.

Fans can vote at mobo.com/voting2013 with the winners being announced at the 18th anniversary of the MOBO Awards on Saturday 19th October 2013 at the SSE Hydro in Glasgow.

The MOBO Awards have been attended by the world's biggest urban music star's over the years and offered a first stage to many UK artists including Rita Ora, Emeli Sande, Angel, Misha B, Shola Ama. The MOBO Awards were launched in 1996 by Kanya King MBE, and were the first music awards event in Europe to focus on urban music.

Writing on Twitter after the nominations were announced, Guvna B said, "Just got nominated for another MOBO award. This year has been incredible #Odd1Out #MOBO18 @MOBOAwards #GodIsGood... Thanks for all the well wishes tweeps... votes and support appreciated."

Guvna B won his first MOBO Award in 2010 and earlier this year he made history when he become the first urban artist to top the UK's Official Christian & Gospel Albums Chart, sponsored by Compassion, with his new album 'Odd 1 Out'.

Discussing his latest album in an interview with LTTM, Guvna B said, "I'm excited that the album is out and doing well! It's all about taking pride in our God given uniqueness."

Guvna B launches his 'Odd 1 Out UK Tour' next week at London's The Garage (13th September), with further dates in Bristol (14th), Birmingham (15th), Glasgow (20th) and Sheffield (27th).
