Interview: Caspar McCloud Band

May 01 2024

Pastor Caspar and Renae Truex of the Caspar McCloud Band talk to Louder Than The Music about their brand new album 'Immortality', and explain why they are inspired by conspiracy theories weighed up against Biblical teaching.

You've just released your latest album 'Immortality', how would you sum up this release?

Pastor Caspar - The day we completed Immortality our studio engineer and producer Mix Mike and the owner of Outlaw Sound Studios Mark Fisher both looked at us and said that this was our best album yet. They both felt that we came together like a well-trained orchestra or sports team all playing their very best and supporting each other to win the game.

Renae - I indeed agree that this is one of our best albums yet! They all have a wonderful journey for the listener, and as we make music together each time the Lord surprises us with new musical adventures!

What made you pick 'Immortality' as the title for this album?

Renae - Not only do we have eternal life in our Lord Jesus, but from the music standpoint every time we do a recording in a way it is timeless and lasts forever. Eternal.

PC - We had just played a concert and the next morning Renae and I were working out at the gym. Suddenly, I remembered a dream I had earlier about our friend Derek Gilbert singing in a cathedral with us in a barbershop quartet sort of style, but it was also a Hymn. After all, it was a dream where anything can happen.

Most dreams are simply thoughts in a different biochemical state. We continue focusing on the same issues that concern us while we are awake but in a different way. The Lord can explain things to us in our dreams that He may have a harder time getting us to focus on whilst we are awake.

Dreams can also be helpful for problem-solving. I pray you have good dreams and are walking daily in the glorious light of Christ.

We are living in exciting times as those paying attention are becoming increasingly aware that we are observing all the signs happening that the Lord forewarned us about happening before He returns as in the Days of Noah.

Considering how evil needs ignorance and darkness to survive in, just like a fish needs water to live in.

However, we read in John 8:12, "Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life."

Just so you know, neurochemically, when we are awake we have specific amounts of serotonin and norepinephrine that help us line up our thoughts and logically process the sensory input coming from the outside world, so we then get bursts of acteylcholine as something captures our attention.

As we sleep at night, acetylcholine production is active and it basically helps to sort through and consolidate our memories, picking out what is important and what is not in our minds, but the production of serotonin and norepinephrine is shut down, which introduces the element of peculiarity into our dreams. Jolly well good to understand the Lord enjoys peculiar people.

As we read in 1 Peter 2:9," But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light;" The Lord also says He will cause you to have dreams and visions in the End Times.

So I was obviously dreaming about completing the new album when I remembered the dream about us singing with Derek Gilbert. By the way, Derek Gilbert is actually a great researcher, intellectual, and best-selling author, who used to be a top 40 DJ and also sang in barbershop quartets. We have shared the stage in numerous prophecies conferences over the years. He and his wife Sharon are also some of my closest friends and Derek is one of the most wise and articulate gentlemen I know. Derek's dad used to say, that if you ask Derek what time is it, he will not only tell you but will instruct you on how to build a clock.

Anyway, I left the gym early and got back to my home studio as I was trying to remember the song I dreamt about. By the time Renae turned up about 40 minutes later, I had pretty much-written Immortality, and we recorded it a short time later that day.

I wanted it to start out a cappella, and then just add in classical guitar and violin to join in with the voices until it ends up as an instrumental.

The theme of the song is to remember that once we are born again we become immortal beings. All the more reason we worship our Lord and Saviour Jesus and try to have everything we think, say and do be pleasing to the Lord!

In 1 Timothy 6, it tells us how there will be people who will contradict our teaching and preaching of the Gospel in the end times, and stir up a load of divisions as their love for money is rooted in all evil. Like people getting divided over if the world is flat or round or going pear-shape. Let us consider this when understanding Immortality and when searching for answers to the complexities of our day to also look at who was paid to do the research. The Lord Jesus/Yeshua clearly told us that we are either for him or against him.

According to Barna's research company which studies Americans' Biblical worldviews. Since the goose step/lock step 2020 pandemic, there’s now only about 4% of professing Christians in America who holds a truly biblical perspective.

When my friend Derek Gilbert wrote the forward for my book Unmasking the Future which was published in 2016, he quoted Barna's research revealing there were only 9% back then of Americans professing Christians who embraced a true Biblical version of Christianity, believing the basic tenets of things like the Virgin birth of Christ and his sinless life, the literal existence of Satan and so on, whilst the rest had embraced the idea of an extraterrestrials coming to save the planet. However, today in 2024 there are only 4% who embrace the Gospel truth, and of the 69 % of adult Americans, who self-identify as professing Christians, many have unbiblical new age beliefs, with 57% of them believing in things like Karma. Which is a theological concept found in the Buddhist and Hindu religions. It is the idea that how you live your life in this world will determine the quality of life you will have after reincarnation.

Which believes if you were very naughty you might come back as an insect and have to work your way back to becoming a human.

You know jolly well the same sorts of things are happening in UK. I still have old friends in England from my childhood I am praying come to salvation in Christ as they can't help but see how ancient prophecies are unfolding and how we are living in a time as in the Days of Noah.

The Word of God tells us in places like Hebrews 9:27And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: It is quite clear that there are two vital points made for Christians in this verse, and why we must reject the possibility of reincarnation and karma.

First, it states that we are “destined to die once,” In other words, we humans are only born once and only die once. The Word of God tells us there is no endless cycle of life and death and rebirth, like those who embrace the idea inherent in the reincarnation theory.

Secondly, the Word of God tells us that after death we shall all face judgment, meaning that there are no more second chances, for those who believe in reincarnation and karma and other new-age nonsense. You only get one opportunity in your life to live it according to God’s divine plan, and that is it. Goodnight nurse!

Our Holy Guide Book to the Supernatural has a great deal to share with us about reaping and sowing which connects with our Immortality. We read in places like Job 4:8 Even as I have seen, they that plow iniquity, and sow wickedness, reap the same. If you cultivate evil fruit, you will reap evil troubles.

Psalm 126:5 says, “They that sow in tears shall reap in joy..” Luke 12:24 says, “Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls?”

In other words, the act of receiving the rewards of your actions whether good or bad takes place in this life, not in some future life as we consider our immortality. Clearly, the way we live our life does affect us with rewards or punishments in the afterlife.

However, this afterlife is about being immortal beings in Christ and is not in any way a rebirth or a reincarnation into another body here on earth. Although we will be granted glorified bodies, they will be without the involvement of any globalist transhumanists tampering with them.

There are only two pathways we can choose to be on, either eternal suffering in hell, are we can be assured of our eternal life in heaven with the Lord Jesus/Yeshua, who died for our sins, so that we might live eternally with Him if we receive his salvation. As we read in Matthew 25:46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

You probably all know, John 3:16 - For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. This should be the daily focus of our life here on earth.

The apostle Paul told us Galatians 6 about sowing and reaping, about staying on the narrow path of holiness so we could receive life everlasting. That is immortality.

We ought to always remember that it was the Lord Jesus, whose death on the cross resulted in the reaping of eternal life for us, and that it is faith in Jesus that gives us this eternal life. It's why we make music to share Christ's agape love.

We read in Ephesians 2:8-God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. 9 Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.

In other words, none of us can work our way to Heaven. We can only arrive because of Christ's mercy, grace, and agape love for us. Clearly, the concept of reincarnation and karma is incompatible with what the Holy Bible teaches about life, death, and the sowing and reaping of eternal life.

I should add that according to Barna's research, 66% of professing Christians say having faith matters more than which faith you pursue. Are you serious?

Clearly, we are a remnant of believers who hold biblical worldviews today and believe the gospel cover to cover. Considering all the churches who watered down the gospel with its seeker-friendly methods, whilst the globalist forces are implementing their Great Reset - New World Order. What hope does the world have if we the people submit to the evil being unleashed? I think these are very valid concerns for the church today considering all the deaths and injuries since the 2020 plandemic, nevertheless, throughout history during times of the greatest crisis, the true believers stood firm, regardless of the cost and the Lord our God Almighty intervened to push back the powers of darkness.

If God’s people would recognise the lateness of the hour and what is unfolding before us and repent and seek God’s divine intervention, good will triumph over evil.

We should all be praying fervently at this point. How the next American presidential election/selection unfolds will impact the entire world. I think if more Christians actually voted, or voted for someone who would uphold the Holy Scriptures, what a different world this would become.

The antichrist system is pretty much in place now.It appears we are observing a parallel falling away and the last great harvest happening simultaneously until Christ’s return.

Because millions of people will come to Christ in the end, and sadly millions of people will also take the mark of the beast and be forever lost. We all need to get our hearts right with the Lord Jesus!!!

One of the first things that struck me about this album is the rock guitar sound that features on so many of the tracks. It feels like you really let your hair down and just played out of your skin! You must have had a lot of fun recording this?

Renae - We both do indeed have a lot of fun playing together! We are so blessed with what the Lord brings to us from just hanging out and playing together. It’s never a dull moment and I know that there is much more in store for us from both the recording and concert aspect.

PC - I rather think that I always tend to let my hair down, as it is better than having it standing straight up. (Grins)

Yes, there were loads of lovely times recording all these songs together. We all tend to play off the creative energy we get making music together. Fortunately for me, my musical twin Renae is quick to point out an idea worth keeping. Several times I was just trying to get a laugh, "as the band that can laugh together stays together." But seriously at times I would just play a riff spontaneously and sing something and Renae grabbed her mobile phone and said do that again. She would send me those video clips and I would realise what she meant that there was a song being birthed from that idea.

I also often get into these discussions on what is unfolding before us prophetically today with my friend Dr. Carrie Madej as we try to make sense of what we are observing happening from a Biblical perspective. Dr. Carrie was one of the very first people in the world to be a whistle-blower against the nefarious agendas that unfolded in 2020. Keep in mind how all the patients were in place before the plandemic was accidentally released on purpose.

She made a video that went viral exposing the plans of the globalist psychopathic transhumanists until the thought police censors found ways to shadow ban and suppress such information. It amazes me how few people understand the lateness of the hour. Many of those conversations seem to get incorporated in my songwriting.

Touring UK earlier this past year I realised how few people were aware of the sinister plans of such organisations as the World Economic Forum gang and Gates of Hell Foundation. As well as how the globalists of the World Health Organisation are vying to gain control over all the nations of the world with their insane Pandemic Treaty. By the way, borders were God's idea after the first world dictator's plans were ruined with his Tower of Babel.

Globalists want to take down borders and have the one world government that Scripture forewarned us would happen before the return of the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth. That means the Marxists in charge could call for another lockdown and force more poisons into people's bodies.

So the World Health Organisation can be the purveyor of open-source biological warfare agents, to depopulate the world as well as turn humanity into Cyborgs.

How do those so-called diplomats at World Health Organisation think we don't see what they are doing and proposing to do next in their crimes against humanity by creating a mechanism to ensure their next plandemic can be accidentally released on purpose anytime they want by those who have access to their online genetic sequences is beyond the pale.

Nevertheless, you had asked me about the guitar rocking out throughout the album. As a guitarist, singer, and songwriter I find that my voice can be expressed through my strings as well as from my body.

I rather love the way Renae and I can exchange solos to the point where some people have commented that they are not sure if it's the guitar or violin singing at times. So there is this chemistry that happens within our band, and I think a lot of it happens because we pray and worship the Lord Jesus with the gifts he gave us to use.

A lot of time I wrote the songs and recorded them to show the band the new songs and I added a lot of guitar solos because I couldn't wait to hear what the song sounded like with all of us. So we ended up keeping a lot of those original guitar solos as it just seemed to keep the songs flowing in that direction. Although I would try and leave space knowing Renae would and the lads would fill in some amazing lines.

If you had to pick out one of the songs on the album to play to someone who never heard your music before, which would you choose and why?

Renae - If I were to choose a song I think that it would be “Watchers.” It’s just so addictive to the ears, and just so straightforward. The chorus flows and soars. Lots of fun ear candy as well!

PC - I was going to pick that one, so I will choose Flat or Round, although any of the songs I think would be equal to the task.

For one thing, some years ago I was working on songs with my legendary rock star friend Tommy James (Shondells) and we both talked about how we wanted to recapture that feeling, those molecules of emotions that made us want to be musicians in the first place. We wanted to get back into the essence of falling in love with music afresh. We had already written several songs at the time, and we were praying for the Holy Spirit's direction. Tommy and I wrote the Watchers together which ended up on Immortality.

J.S. Bach said, “The final aim and reason of all music is nothing other than the glorification of God and the refreshment of the spirit.”

Flat or Round is obviously dealing with the fact that so many people no longer trust what the educational system has programmed and indoctrinated them to think. They are questioning is the world flat or round and did anyone actually fly to the Moon.

Its time to gain back some critical thinking skills. The truth is always open to being questioned, that is what basic science is, but a lie does not want you to question it. We only need to examine the evidence of what has transpired worldwide since the 2020 plandemic agenda to understand how we have all been lied to repeatedly.

Speaking of evidence there is some compelling documentation revealing that the modern-day Father of the Flat Earth theory was a chap named Lieutenant Colonel. Michael Angelo Aquino, he appears to have been quite a high-ranking member of Anton LaVey's Church of Satan.

Lieutenant Colonel. Aquino was also an intelligence officer in the military who specialised in psychological warfare in the United States Army. Just think about that a moment, high ranking Satanists in high-ranking military offices. What could that mean for the rest of us? I'm just asking for a friend.

We read in places like Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. This tells us those who work for the kingdom of darkness are situated in high places of influence. Think of places like parliament.

You might want to study Operation Paperclip, how the United States intelligence program launched a secret mission where they brought in more than 1,600 Nazi scientists, engineers, and technicians to the States and gave them power of positions of influence between 1945-59. This was how they started NAZA, as America didn't have a rocket program until then.

Anyway, I rather like the way Flat or Round came together and the energy we were able to bring into it which recaptures a wee bit of that feeling I had that made me want to be a musician. Makes me want to dance around, rather than dance flat.

The album has really striking artwork on its cover - talk us through the various elements of that and how it relates to the songs.

Renae - We make music for our Lord. As in him, we have eternal life, and so does our music for Him. Matt McCoy did a wonderful job on this album cover, capturing the essence of this record's journey for the listener. It also catches the eye and stokes curiosity which is really good!

PC - Our friend Matt McCoy created the cover as he has done for most of my albums over the years. Matt is quite a talented gent and has traveled the world designing theme parks and worked for film companies and things like that. We worked on a few projects together over the years as we are both visual artist. I spent a great deal of my youth being influenced by the works of the Pre-Raphaelites, and I sit for hours in Tate Gallery in London, the National Museums in Liverpool, and Manchester Art Gallery on Mosley Street trying to analyse how to paint like my heroes of the Art world. Later on, for years I applied those ideas and the techniques that I studied in my work as an equestrian portrait artist. Whereas Matt was on the other side of the spectrum learning graphic design and acquiring skills that enable him to design things like album and book covers. My approach to Art is like a classical musician in an orchestra, that only appeals to some high brows who gather in a sound museum to hear Bach and Beethoven.

Matt's approach to Art is more like a popular rock band playing to a crowd of a million people. We did discuss ideas going back and forth on the album cover, but in the end the vision rested with Matt.

I recall talking with him about it calling it Immortality, because as Christians we shall live with the Lord Jesus forever. We will also be known as were known. 1 Corinthians 13:12," For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known."

After years of Bible study and research, I am fairly certain musician here shall be a musician up there in Heaven. So we may have eternity to play music unto the Lord. Down here music is an inherent part of every society and works as a communication tool. It is like a universal language. Although there are no New Testament instructions on what type of instruments to be used, or to be avoided there is no particular “style” of music that is commanded or forbidden. I rather think the Lord enjoys variety, just as he gave us all different fingerprints and science tells us every snowflake has a unique design. We read in Colossians 3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. 17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

The album cover from my perspective depicts our immortality as the theme of the album builds towards that eventuality with Christ the master of the Universe. He commanded us to sing a new song unto him and sing it with grace in our hearts. We can do that here and offer forgiveness the moment we are offended as our King Jesus did for each of us.

When you reach the final two tracks on the album, it feels like the style really changes, from loud rock to quieter praise. Did you ever consider saving these two songs back for a different album and just keep it as a full-on rock album?

Renae - I think that having a little bit of a contrast musically on this album was a good call. We have been blessed with so many musical flavors as a group, so why not show them?

PC - In concert, we often find a place to play some acoustic music. It’s like night and day, the changes make us appreciate the Sunlight and the moonlight.

What's next for the Caspar McCloud Band?

PC - If you book us we will come!

Renae - Coming soon to an arena near you! Pastor Caspar is correct. “If you book us, we will come!"
