Interview: Caspar McCloud Band

Aug 16 2023

The Caspar McCloud Band are back with their brand new album 'Higher Frequencies'. Louder Than The Music spoke at length to Pastor Caspar and Renae Truex all about the inspiration behind this new set of songs, and as is always the case when we talk to Pastor Caspar, the conversation soon delved into some unexpected topics! Read on for his thoughts on everything from musical frequencies to UFO's!

Hi Pastor Caspar & Renae - you've just released your new album 'Higher Frequencies' - first up, can you tell us why you came up with that title?

PC: Excellent question, Dave. Let me first say that we prayed about the title as much as we prayed about the songs and all things we are involved with. The album is a labour of love. Our Holy Guide Book to the Supernatural tells us that God is love. 1 John 4:8 - “He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.”

The idea of calling the album 'Higher Frequencies' came about from considering how God Almighty's ways are so far above are ways. For we read in places like Isaiah 55:9 - “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.” The only way for us to move forward in this understanding is to do Matthew 6:33 - “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”

Let us also understand that God Almighty communicates with us all the time if we simply tune in to His proper higher frequency. When I was young, so much younger than today... I built a crystal radio and I used to listen to rock and roll at night when I was supposed to be sleeping. That might help explain why I sometimes spontaneously sing a line from an old song whilst preaching. But I digress. What we program in will influence what comes out as neurons that fire together, wire together.

What I recall was having this rather sensitive dial control on that radio which I had soldered to some transistors and wires on a metal platform where you could tune into different stations in between all the noise and hissing sounds you would hear trying to locate a station. Nevertheless, once you found that station you were looking for you could fine tune it and you could pretty much always find it again. So just like a radio station, we have to have our ears tuned to the Holy Spirit's frequency to catch His signal.

That said, I find myself over the last decade or so surrounded by some extraordinary erudite researchers, intellectuals, physicians and Bible scholars, and I have been invited numerous times to share the platform with them and give my presentations at these prophecy conferences as well as play my original music at these events.

I have attended several events recently where some of the speakers shared about frequencies. They were building a case that we should play music in 432 Hz instead of the standard 440 Hz tuning. They indicated how the Globalists like Rockefeller and the horrid Nazis started to use 440 Hz to try and take over the world. After a wee bit of research I discovered that indeed the 440 Hz standard was established by the British Standards Institute in an international conference in London in 1939.

However, some of the frequency advocates also claim that 432 Hz is the natural frequency of the universe and they believe it to have cosmic healing powers. I also heard people claiming that this is a better frequency for attracting an audience to your music. So in essence, if all of you aspiring guitarists would simply tune your guitars and bass to the 432 frequency, you might bypass all the gatekeepers and become that rock star you dreamt of being! Nevertheless, I have yet to see evidence proving this.

Before the invention of reliable electronic tuners, music was tuned to a tuning fork. Tuning forks, mind you, became somewhat standardized in the 18th century. Back then all these tuning forks could differ as it was difficult to make them all precisely identical. Just as today, most every musical instrument has its own personality no matter how close to identical the manufacturers make them. This also meant that not every tuning fork would vibrate at exactly at 440 Hz; that some could be a wee bit higher or lower. For example, you could have musicians in an orchestra performing who were tuned to 436 Hz and another orchestra in the next town over playing the same musical compositions who were tuned to 443 Hz. Making an educated guess here that most people would not notice the difference. Personally, I think the most important thing is what spirits are behind the music.

I got to thinking the arguments that were presented reminded me of how people in recent times have told me that I need to pray in the Almighty name of Yeshua instead of Jesus. Looking back retrospectively, I have seen numerous prayers answered and people come into salvation using the almighty name of Jesus! From my perspective, all frequencies are under God's ultimate control.

The frequency controversy seems like someone claiming a certain time of day is better than another time of day. When people try and tell me that mere men wrote the Holy Bible I ask them what spirit wrote what they believe. The poet John Milton went blind when he was 44 years old, and he dictated his entire book called Paradise Lost to friends and relatives and anyone he could get to write something down for him. His entire epic Paradise Lost has a total of 10,550 lines of poetry. Just because Milton himself did not put pen to paper, no one questions that Paradise Lost is not solely his work. The principle is similar with our Holy Guide Book to the Supernatural. Clearly God is the Author of the Bible, and he used human agents as His “secretaries” to give us the divinely inspired Word of God. 2 Timothy 3:16-17: “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.”

Over the years I simply started praying in the almighty name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, Messiah Yeshua so there is no mistaking what God I serve. Over the last number of years, let’s face it, a spirit of occult and new age teachings have crept into the churches, which has filtered into Christian music as well. Doctrine is important. God's doctrine equals divine truth! 1 Timothy 4:1: “Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;”

Let me also say, that Pythagoras of ancient Greece is considered to be one of the greatest of mathematicians in history and is now regarded as the founder of music therapy. Pythagoras believed by using harmonic frequencies in music that he could heal sick people. Similarly, Plato disparaged the notion that music was intended simply to create a cheerful atmosphere and play with your emotions. He affirmed that music which could ennoble the mind was of a far higher frequency than that which appealed to one's sensibilities. Pythagoras and Plato both needed to connect with God Almighty instead of new age deceptions.

It appears to me that in every society we find that music is an inherent part of most every culture throughout history. I think J.S. Bach said it best when he was quoted to have said: “The final aim and reason of all music is nothing other than the glorification of God and the refreshment of the spirit.”

So if we are going to move towards Higher Frequencies we simply need to understand that God Almighty, through the Lord Jesus/Yeshua, has chosen to reveal Himself to us because of His agape love for each of us. Any knowledge that we have presently of God Almighty and His higher frequencies comes to us as a direct result of Him revealing it to us. God Almighty is the One who gives the revelation of Himself to each of us willing to tune in and study the holy instructional manual he gave us because the initiative starts on His side. Romans 5:8 - “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” 1 John 4:19 - “We love him, because he first loved us.”

Considering that we His church are even commanded to communicate with each other with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Holy Spirit. Ephesians 5:19 - “Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord.”
RT: Definitely agree with Pastor Caspar and what he has explained here regarding the album title. Indeed our Lord Jesus is “The Higher Frequency,” above and beyond all the other noise that is happening around us constantly. We must always make a point to listen for Him over all things taking place around us on this earth. We pray that this album will help others do just that!

Your songs always delve in to some really interesting and current society issues - what topics do these latest songs explore?

PC: My friend Nurse Kate called me up and played me a song in January that someone wrote for her to use on her podcasts. She asked me what I really thought of it, so I shared that I thought it needed some revision and a stronger melody. After I hung up the telephone I picked up my guitar and this song called Nurse Kate happened in about 15 minutes about her being the most dangerous woman in all UK for speaking out the truth against the official propaganda narratives. So I quickly recorded it, sent her an mp3 to listen to about an hour after we spoke, and she just loved the new song, not just because it was about her, but because it makes you glad when you hear it. She said it gave her an earworm and she can't get the melody out of her head now.

We ended up including Nurse Kate on Higher Frequencies and did a video with our band which was shown at a conference in Bath this past June that Kate was at with our friend Dr. Carrie Madej. I was invited to be there as well, but had to postpone flying back until September. We also did a video with our film documentary maker/friend Chad Riley on Fly Like Superman that was quite fun to do and included my horse Mr. Bob. Renae stopped traffic a few times during some scenes we videoed where she was dressed up as superwoman. She actually can defend herself jolly well and throws a powerful punch as she is quite the athlete as well as an exceptional musician/child of God.

We were playing together at her studio in Nashville and somehow joked about playing an Irish jig which is how The Soaker Jig happened. I played it for my friend Carol Ross who manages Tommy James and the Shondells, and she convinced me to include it on the album as she said it brings such feelings of joy to listen to it. We also included a new version of an old song I wrote called Back Slider that we have used as an encore in concerts where I play part of a solo on my guitar with my violin bow so that Renae and I solo together bowing the song away.

I actually wrote enough songs for another double album; however, our studio engineer asked if we could keep it to just 10 songs this time knowing the time frame that we wanted to keep for release of the album. Somehow we ended up with 14 songs and, hopefully, we will finish mixing them for the next album in the future.

One of the songs that I think addresses some of the most current societal issues we are all now dealing with best is God's Promises. I am not sure if anyone else has addressed such subject matter this way. I rhymed sin with microorganisms, but I felt inspired doing it. It’s not a conspiracy theory when those in question are openly telling us what they plan to do. I think the fact that her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth revealed the triple helix for all the world to see at the Jubilee in 2022, marks a significant number hidden in plan sight. (Pun intended.)

Music & Lyrics Caspar McCloud (c) 2023 ASCAP

I have shared with my church, The Upper Room Fellowship, and in numerous conferences about the mark of the beastly system that is being set up now as we speak and the triple helix that has resulted with the nanotechnologies. Explaining how you get 72.000 genes from your Dad and 72.000 from your mum. So combining that to make 144.000 genes, that's the original genetic code of man. The same number of 144.000 evangelists who are here after the rapture.

Yet, now the evidence is showing that the Gates of Hell Foundation have helped by adding a third strand to be another 72.000 genes, which adds up the total genetic code of a man to make it 216.000 with three strands of DNA - a triple helix as opposed to the normal 144.000 genes in the double helix. If you multiply 600 times 60 times 6 that equals 216,000. Probably just another strange globalist coincidence.

Revelation 13:16-18: “And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:” (He cause all-means it is require, which means you can and must refuse it.) “And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.”

If we think this through, Revelation 13:16 appears to mean that God Almighty seals all of us who trust in His only begotten Son Jesus Christ of Nazareth as Saviour by placing the Holy Spirit in us. This seal designates that true born again, spirit-filled believers as belonging to God. And by the way, the Lord signed his signature into our DNA.

Similarly, in the end times, the demonic False Prophet will cause everyone, regardless of social or economic status, to choose whether to receive a mark on the right hand and on the forehead. This mark will identify the recipients as belonging to the kingdom of darkness, so they belong to the beast.

Consider how Yuval Noah Harari, lead advisor to Nazi-raised Klaus Schwab, founder of the World Economic Forum, describes their "plandemic bioweapons" as the moment when the world went digital toward constant monitoring to bring in a total biometric surveillance under the skin. Harari has gone on record to tell us how the World Economic Forum gang’s “great reset/Fourth Reich” intentions are to bring in total human enslavement in its crimes against humanity.

Actually, I think most of the new songs address these sorts of things and at the same time bring in a sense of hope as we look forward to seeing the fulfillment of prophecy in Christ's return; for we are to help comfort each other. 1 Thessalonians 4:18 - “Wherefore comfort one another with these words.”

We were getting prepared to play a television show last year when we saw on the news in the lobby of the hotel how those demonic Georgia Guidestones had fallen down. The rest of the band had gone to sleep as we had a early sound check. But my wife Joan and Renae and I stayed up while longer as Renae and I were working on our set list and suddenly without trying we came up with this song, Georgia Guidestones, that we live-streamed whilst we were still developing the song. I later did an event with about 40.000 people in attendance and several million watching the live feed. I was asked to give a presentation and at one point started singing the Georgia Guidestones song and asked the crowd to sing along. My poet friend Randy Conway who writes these profound poems about subjects I also write and lecture on was in the audience. He told me later all those thousands of people were singing along with me, never having heard the song before. So I do enjoy coming up with melodies and lyrics that are easily assessable, providing they please the Lord Jesus and draw people closer to Christ.

We are clearly living in a time of great confusion today, when people even have trouble defining their biology, thanks to the spirit of Inanna.
Surveys are showing a great majority of people now believe in the existence of extraterrestrials today instead of God Almighty; something I have been warning the church about for decades. I saw a survey done back in 2009 that showed only 9% of Christians in America had a proper supernatural worldview defined by believing in the basic tenets of Christianity, like the virgin birth, Jesus Christ of Nazareth's sinless life, and the literal existence of Satan. Without the Virgin birth there is no Christianity.

The fact that two out of five British millennials do not even know that Jesus Christ is the baby in Nativity scene displays, according to a company in U.K. called OnePoll which carried out the research, ought to be alarming. Now that the Pentagon is releasing classified footage of UFOs, and telling us how they and other members of the world governments have space crafts and biologics of non-human origin, it has intrigued a lot of people who are looking for answers in all the wrong places.

A lot of what we’ve seen in the last few years is not actual science and exploration anymore. Rather, it’s become the one world religion of science - not understanding that God Almighty gave us science to show us how extraordinarily complex and beautiful He created the universes to be.
There are questions many people have asked since the beginning of time, like where do we come from? Why are we here, and what happens when we die?

I would add: what happens if you are transhumanised, as there may be no turning back for those who take a brain chip implant and become a transceiver and transmitter cyborg, like those who will take the mark of the beast. Dr. Robert Duncan from Harvard/DARPA warned about mind manipulation technologies back in 2010.

For the last number of years thousands of people travel every year to those new agey UFO festivals seeking such answers. Christians have definitive answers to all those questions, which begs the question, why aren’t they asking us? I dare say, it’s because all too often the modern Church refuses to engage with those asking such questions about mysterious lights in the sky, and things that they can’t hardly articulate or even process to understand after such experiences as those numerous claims of people being abducted by so called ETs. They have no reference point to process such things without a proper Biblical perspective.

The late Harvard psychiatrist Dr. John Mac, discovered more than 36 points of correlation between the victims of UFO abductions and victims of Satanic ritual abuse. We’re not dealing with benevolent extraterrestrials my friends, and they did not travel millions of light years just to come here to deceive us into thinking they created Jesus, and that is how He did all those miracles, or that the Bible needs to be rewritten. At least, that’s what those members that serve in the World Economic Forum gang in their crimes against humanity suggest we have Artificial Intelligence do. After years of study I believe we are dealing with inner dimensional, spiritual entities that have been here since the Garden of Eden.

DARPA which is a military branch and WEF openly talks about hacking into brains with their modern technologies; something demons have be doing for ages - merging your thoughts with spirits of bitterness and unforgiveness for example. So unlike the church today, all those new agers are quick to accept and embrace people seeking answers and lead them astray, as the blind leading the blind. After all, they will need that cover story once millions of Christians suddenly vanish off this earth. 1 Thessalonians 4:17 - “Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.”

I should also share with you I got news a few months ago that the younger brother of one of my UK childhood friends, John, was killed in a tragic accident in NZ. After I got off the call, I picked up my guitar and just hit the record button in my studio and recorded the song The Other Side.
I was hesitant to play it for anyone at the time because it was pretty much all spontaneously recorded. I didn't even write down any lyrics.
I just felt so gutted I had tears running down my face as I recorded that track, and I can still hear that in my singing and playing on the recording. Renae, Carlos and Kenneth recorded on my original track and I shared it with my friend John and his wife, Sheena, who said it brought the family some comfort in the midst of grieving. I take comfort knowing that Michael knew the Lord Jesus as we had kept in touch over the years.

RT: These songs cover topics that so many are afraid to speak of. They cover topics that must be brought to light. As musical warriors in Christ, this is what we are called to do. Many people can’t sit through lectures and many words. Attention spans can be very short, however if they catch a song with a memorable riff, lyric and rhythm, they are hooked. We pray that through our music that lives are touched, blessed and changed.

If you had to pick just one of the tracks on this album to play to someone who'd never heard your music before, which song would it be and why?

PC: Dave, you do ask the most intriguing and thought-provoking questions. I think I would choose the opening track What Do You See, because musically I am quite keen on everything we did on this, and lyrically we are, as most all our songs, able to base everything on verses in the Holy Bible that inspire us. First off, the Lord gave us eyes to see, ears to hear, and hearts to be converted and discern what is going on. Many times the Lord tells us not to let anyone deceive us. The song inquires about what you see the Future to be eventually.

Will it be what the kingdom of darkness is setting up with digital banking, eliminating all freedom, turning the world into a Chinese credit score system, with Artificial Intelligence at the helm with transhumanists depopulating 90 percent of humanity? Or will we experience the ancient end time prophecies being fulfilled when the Lord Jesus brings in His New World Order?

If I recall, my musical twin Renae encouraged me to keep the first take of my guitar solo on What Do You See. It's just that artist thing in our DNA that causes us to always want to do something better, so it's very helpful to have someone you can trust to help you gain proper perspective, and know when to let go of something you're working on.

I also find as a pastor that many professing Christians don't always want to see what is coming or do what the Lord commands us to do. For example, who wants to do Matthew 5:44: “But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you”?

Nevertheless, our Lord and God Jesus/Yeshua told us to do this. After being tortured beyond our comprehension and nailed to that Roman cross, "Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do." Luke 23:34.

We are not called to retaliate or return evil for evil, we are called to overcome evil with good (Romans 12:21). We are also called out from the darkness of this world to let our light shine. Our mission is not even to please ourselves but in everything we think, say and do to please our heavenly Father (1 Corinthians 10:32). Clearly the Lord Jesus is pleased when we endure those difficulties with Christlike patience, and do whatsoever is within our power to help restore, pray and bless others.

We all have pre-existing memories if we have been here for a while, and when any of us engage with spirits of bitterness, or unforgiveness we release toxic chemicals in our body. As you might recall, I have written books on epigenetics from a biblical perspective. So if we aren't being a doer of the Word, (James 1:22) we deceive ourselves. We all go through hurtful things in this fallen world and not everything is always pleasant. We can be hurt by others and even hurt by those we love who are who are suppose to love us. So when we develop some poisonous memory, there are spikes that grow, just like the fangs of a snake that attach onto our thoughts. If poisonous thoughts generated from memories dominate your thought life, when those memories are reactivated, and stimulated, (like if you see someone you’d rather not deal with ever again or just think about how they did you wrong) you end up releasing and secreting venomous, poisonous chemicals that cause sickness and diseases.”

In other words, we have thousands of thoughts a day and it’s going to take some effort and self-discipline to continue to renew your mind to washing of the Holy Word of God. 2 Corinthians 10:5 - "Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.”

It takes daily practise, just like playing an instrument, to take every thought captive to Christ so your thoughts don't end up taking you captive. When you meditate on the Word of God, it will gradually begin to make changes in your brain through the mind-body, soul, and spirit connection so that your body will begin to heal. In fact we read in Proverbs 4:20-22, “My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.” I once looked up that word "ALL" in Greek, Hebrew and Aramaic and surprisingly it means everything.

In cases where people have high blood pressure it’s really caused by the poisonous mindset of entertaining the spirit of fear that God did not give you (2 Timothy 1:7). When people fear the future, fear over financial provision, fear getting sick from the nefarious bioweapons, fear what the psychopathic globalists are going to try next, in essence, they are bowing down to fear saying that thing they are fearing is greater than God's ability to deliver them from it. God Almighty is the perfect gentleman who allows us freedom of choice. Unlike the goals of the World Economic Forum gang which desires to turn you into a cyborg slave. The moment you cry out to God to save you, He will.

When you meditate on the word of God and all those healing scriptures, you start to build healthy memory trees which brings peace into your brain and body. The more you meditate on the Holy Scriptures, speak them out loud, and sing them out loud during the day and night, the more healthy branches you build with healthy memories and the stronger they become - which is another reason to sing and make music to the Lord.

So all those electromagnetic waves we all have will reactivate those healthy memories that you’re building up and cause secretion of healthy, life-giving chemicals to flow through you. This means that your body will respond by taking down those poisonous memory trees the spirit of fear grew in your brain and start to remove those poisonous fangs, taking those spikes off the neurons. Once those memory trees of spirits of bitterness and death and destruction are dealt with by forgiving everyone, including yourself, they are no longer able to secrete those poisonous chemicals that make you sick.

This means that those things that once stimulated the stress reaction in you are disconnected when you become a doer of the Word of God. So once the stress reaction is broken, a healthy balance may be restored between the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system to make you feel glad all over.

RT: I do love “What Do You See” as Pastor Caspar has chosen. It stands very firm in God’s word. I will say as an additional choice would be “The Soakers Jig.” This may seem to be an unusual given that it has no lyrics. However what happens to you when you listen to it? Instant joy! You can’t help but to smile. All darkness of the world is lifted and God’s joy is poured out through it. That “Higher Frequency” is released. Sometimes nothing needs to be said. Our Lord works in so many amazing ways, above and beyond what we can ever imagine. Amen.

You're widely renowned for your guitar playing, and this album is dominated by some extraordinary electric guitar solos - for the tech geeks out there - can you tell us a little about the guitar setup you used and how you come up with your riffs?

A few albums ago, it was on Back to Back when I tried playing the same guitar solo on Jesus Wins with several of my favorite guitars through my custom built Trainwreck amplifier. I tried using my old Gibson 345 that was my main guitar when I recorded for Atlantic Records, then I played it on my PRS which I played for well over a decade. Lastly I recorded it on my American Stratocaster and I could hardly believe the difference in the sound. The Stratocaster just had much more clarity and definition. A few weeks later we were performing at an event warning people of the nanotechnologies with several of my physician friends, Dr. Carrie Madej, Dr. Lee Merritt and Dr. Bryan Ardis. And during the sound check my friend George Donovan, who serves in leadership with me at The Upper Room Fellowship, told me that the Stratocaster I was using as my back up guitar sounded way better than my PRS guitar. That got me thinking of all the electric guitarists that I really admire seemed to all play Stratocasters. I have pretty much been playing and recording with my Stratocaster ever since.

There's a town near our church called Jasper, and I was thinking if we lived there I could be Pastor Caspar from Jasper, playing a Stratocaster, painting like an old master, playing faster....but, I digress again.

Years ago I was talking to my friend, the late Kenny Fischer, who worked for Ampeg guitar amplifier company and I was asking him why can't there be a guitar amplifier that plays clean at lower volume and sings with great sustain when you take it up to eleven? Kenny built me the first Trainwreck amp shortly after that conversation, and I have been enjoying them ever since. For those technical minded, there is a chapter on how that happened in Webbers book of Who’s Who in amplifiers. Basically, Trainwreck amps reveal every little nuance so I tend to use my skills that I acquired playing classical guitar in my overall approach. I tend to avoid a lot of effects pedals, although I use some delay and reverb. We added some slight flange in the studio recordings on some solos where it felt like it enhanced the sound I was going for, which is pretty much guitar into amp, and no pedals.

RT: Caspar is da’ bomb. Sometimes we call him Sir. Shredalot.

You've made a change to the band lineup for this release, tell us a bit about that?

We did make one change as our keyboardist didn't fancy traveling as often as we had opportunities. After praying about it we ended up adding Kenneth Bentley on bass, who toured the world in times past with Mylon Lefevre and Broken Heart. I used to play bass on our recordings, however after Kenneth came on board, we had him replace all the bass tracks that I did for all the new songs. Kenneth is also a marvelous singer and blends in quite well with the band. Mostly he has a heart to serve the Lord Jesus as we consider ourselves a ministry first that happens to be a band.
We did start out recording with a new keyboardist at the beginning of the year who happened to come rather late to rehearsal. So it was just the 4 of us working on the new songs, and I rather enjoyed the sound we created without the keyboards. I turned to my musical twin Renae and our drummer Carlos and we felt led to carry on without keyboards on this project. I met a fabulous keyboardist after we finished Higher Frequencies and we started recording some Bach duets together. There will probably be some side projects with him in future. He is classically trained and reminds me a wee bit of Keith Emerson of ELP. It’s rare to find a classical musician that can improvise as well as he is can. In Christian circles, we call that flowing in the Holy Spirit. Many people don't realise that Beethoven improvised quite a lot.

I recall one time I was playing classical guitar for a friend in UK wedding and it was an outdoor event. I was in the middle of playing the Bach Cello suite and the wind blew the music away. So I just started improvising. Afterward, this gent came and asked me where I got hold of that extra Bach piece as he never heard it before.

Sadly when Bach graduated to Heaven, a lot of his musical compositions he wrote on paper were sold to the local butcher to wrap meats in.
I should mention that Renae and I also have some acoustic compositions we are recording together for a future solo project.

RT: It is such a joy having Kenneth Bentley on bass. He is such a warrior of God and he is such a beautiful light. It is always such a joy sharing music with our drummer Carlos Merced as well. He puts such a lovely rhythmic twist to the music. All of us speak so well together as a group in delivering the Lords message of music to the masses. I feel so truly blessed to be a part.

You're also on the road a lot at the moment, where have you been playing, and did we hear a rumour that you're performing in the UK soon?

RT: Yes! Going over to the UK soon! I am so excited! I have never been there before. What better way to go than to go be a musical warrior missionary in Christ! So many lives with be touched and blessed including mine. I'm looking forward to meeting some of the McCloud's family and childhood friends that I have heard stories about.

PC: Yes, hopefully we’ll see you in September. We have several events scheduled starting in Leeds and finishing in Bristol where I am looking forward to seeing some family and childhood friends.

I just returned yesterday from playing and giving a presentation that our friend Dr. Michael Spaulding and his wife Kathy helped organise with Pastor Niel Petersen called the Go Therefore Conference. The Lord told us to Go and share the Gospel and so we did, along with my friends Dr. Sherri Tenpenny, Derek and Sharon Gilbert from Skywatch TV, Dr. L. A Marzulli, Dr. Michael Lake, Tom Dunn, our poet friend Randy Conway, Vicki Joy Anderson, Dr. Gregory Reid, Pastor Nathan Branim, Kenny Seay, and David Heavener.

It never seems to be long between your album releases - has your mind already turned to the next set of songs?

PC: I must confess that I get a lot of musical ideas, most everything is a song or painting to me. When the world got shut down in 2020 I think a lot more people started to appreciate how much music has a way to connect, console, and lift spirits during such unsettling times. The process by which we’re able to perceive these sounds as music is incredibly complex through our minds. Considering how it starts with sound waves entering our ears, which stimulates the eardrum, and causes vibrations that are converted into electric signals, what an amazing design the Lord created us with.

All these complex signals we hear and feel travel by sensory nerves to our brain’s message relay station where we collect auditory information. At which point they will be dispersed to activate our auditory cortices (how we hear things), and distributed to many other parts of the mind, spirit, soul, and body. Depending on what type of music we are taking in, all sorts of emotional changes take place. I recall how Dr. Pellegrino wrote about the incomparable power that music has upon the human brain stating that it has the uncanny power to: “…trigger a flood of human emotions and images that can instantaneously produce very powerful changes in emotional states.” Dr. Pellegrino said and I quote: “Take it from a brain researcher. In 25 years of working with the brain, I still cannot affect a person’s state of mind the way that one simple song can.”

Let us consider how the Lord Jesus/Yeshua chose to worship Father God by singing a hymn with His original disciples at the conclusion of sharing His Last Supper with them. “And when they had sung a hymn, they went out into the Mount of Olives.” Mark 14:26. I find that incredibly significant to contemplate that the Lord Jesus/Yeshua lead his disciples in a worship song in anticipation of what He would soon endure in order to save each one of us.

Which other secular and Christian artists are inspiring you at the moment?

RT: Though not current artists, but ones who have moved on to be with the Lord are Johnny Cash and Charlie Daniels. They both went through quite a life of darkness at times, however moved on to become strong believers, speaking and living by example until the day that they passed. They touched many people's life's. It is inspiring. Proof that it is never too late for anyone to come to Christ no matter what.

PC: We met Tyler Hayes-Rueff through our mutual friend Dr. Carrie Madej. I am not really much of a country music fan, nevertheless we are quite impressed with Tyler's talent. She has such a rich, and warm singing voice, and she is also a very talented songwriter. She will spend some time with someone and then write an encouraging song about what they are going through in a prophetic sort of way. We ended up co-writing some songs together and Renae added her anointed violin lines to them. Hopefully, we will get to release those songs at some point. I also love Renae's rich and warm singing voice too especally as she has perfect pitch. I love the vocal harmonies we get in our band with Kenneth and Carlos singing with us, and everyone can hit the high notes too. Another higher frequency perk.

There are so many extremely talented musicians to consider today, now that the modern-day tower of Babel, I mean the internet, has connected us and made us aware of each other, I am not sure I can even begin to share what songs have inspired us today. What truly inspires me is hearing someone whose heart is filled with the Holy Spirit.

We also get some lovely encouraging messages from people like this that I like to share which helps remind us why we do this. “Pastor McCloud, My wife and I attended the Go Therefore Conference last summer. It was the first time we heard you speak and perform your music. While at the conference, we brought a copy of your Walking In Authority album. At the time, we had no idea how your music would serve to give incredible courage to us and our children. We are grateful to God for the songs on that album! The Lord is using your music to help us press ahead in these times with strength, confidence, and growing boldness- even as the world is getting darker. May the Lord bless and keep you! May he make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you. May he lift up his countenance upon you and give you shalom.” - S. Hudson
