Jemimah Paine Releases Latest Single 'Closure'

Mar 03 2023

Jemimah Paine, a professional singer/songwriter, singing teacher & worship leader based in West London, releases ‘Closure’ on March 3rd, the 2nd of 4 singles from her new studio EP.

"I wrote this song after suddenly losing my gran who tragically died on holiday", explains Jemimah. "I found I could only get closure through writing a song about praising God even through the hardest of times. This song is being published through Wings Music Group. My producer Féz co-wrote the song with me along with Joe Baxter".

Jemimah says: "This song is extremely close to my heart, I was able to find healing and peace in God through writing it. Grief is never an easy topic to write about but it is needed more than ever in the world we live in. When we let God into our grief and suffering He promises to be with us and journey with us through all the highs and lows."

August 2022 saw Jemimah being nominated for and winning the ‘Best Pop Artist 2022’ with the TMMP awards. Originally from the Island of Guernsey, Jemimah was born into a musical family with her grandfather being the conductor of a choir and her mother being a professional singer. Jemimah has sung since she was 7 and taught singing for the past 6 years.

She moved to London in 2014 to study Theology, Music & Worship at London School of Theology. Jemimah has sung as a guest soloist for various concerts in Guernsey, the UK & Amsterdam.

In January 2020 Jemimah released her debut EP ‘Anthem’s. During lockdown 2020 Jemimah was involved in a number of music collaboration and co-writing projects and released her second EP ‘Friend’ in August 2021 which contains a number of exciting collaborations with J. Vessel, Matias Ruiz and Tania Ilyashova. In June Jemimah recorded her new 4 track EP which will be released over the coming months. She wrote this with Joe Baxter (collaborated recently with Connor Maynard) and Féz who also produced the EP.

Over the past few years Jemimah’s music has been played on BBC Guernsey & Jersey, UCB 1 and 2 and Konnect Radio in the UK. She has been involved in events, recordings and performances with Graham Kendrick, Lucy Grimble, Jake Isaac, Chris Read, James Bourne (Busted), David Gest, the National TV awards and the Rugby World Cup charity single which will be released in 2023.
