Melanie Waldman Releases New Single 'Overwhelmed'

Jan 13 2023

Melanie Waldman announces the release of her newest single, “Overwhelmed” featuring Christian Rapper Palace, written by Michael Weaver, Phil Wickham and Palace and produced by Sam Hart. “Overwhelmed” is being dropped to radio today and is the first single from Melanie’s forthcoming EP of the same name.

Overwhelmed” is a new take on the 2014 single by Big Daddy Weave which reached the top of the US Christian AC (Billboard) charts. Melanie’s version features Palace, who brings new content to verse two.

“Forever I’m overwhelmed
Endless love never fails
Telling me you gave your only Son
Just for me for everlasting life
Endless praise offered up
And my gaze lifted up
To the hills from where my help comes,”
sings Palace.

About the release, Melanie Waldman said: "In 2014, when Big Daddy Weave released their single ‘Overwhelmed’ I was leading worship for my church’s Celebrate Recovery ministry. I led the song for a community of believers who were desperate for Jesus and I watched as He worked through this song to reach deep recesses of people’s hearts. This experience stuck with me over the past decade and that’s why I’m so excited to be partnering with Palace to reimagine this song for a new generation of people desperate for Jesus.”

About the release, Palace said: “The first time I heard the song was when Sam sent over Melanie’s rough mixes. I was blown away by the passion and cry for God that I heard. I pray this new version of the song will again evoke honor, awe and wonder from this generation.”
