Iryne Rock Releases New Single 'What Love Is'

Jul 16 2021

Iryne Rock (pronounced "Irene") is a dynamic new voice who has released her new single 'What Love Is', co-written with, and produced by Billy Smiley.

Iryene says “'What Love Is' was inspired by 1 John 4:7-12. This scripture talks about how God showed His love, by loving us first and sacrificing His Son for us. These verses also describe God’s love with a mandate, that we love one another. Love is such a popular theme in music, that it has been visited and revisited in probably all genres. I want listeners hearing the song for the first time or hundredth time to feel joyful, rejuvenated and most of all LOVED by God because He embodies the meaning of love and that is What Love Is."

Christian artist Iryne Rock’s style of music cuts across multiple genres to produce her signature sound. Her first album, JFY - Just for You, was released in 2018. Fire In My Veins, the first single from that album, has enjoyed international radio play and also won her the Best Songwriter award at the 2019 ICFF in Orlando, Florida.

Born in Nigeria before relocating to the United States as a teenager, Iryne is fortunate to have spiritual mentors, including her parents, whose impact upon her ministry cannot be understated. A firm believer in the word of God, she gave her life to Christ and has been involved in the choir from an early age. She most recently served as the Youth Pastor and worship leader at her local church in Maryland where she developed her vocal and songwriting abilities.
Iryne is back in the studio, working on her second album with Grammy/Dove nominated Producer, Biilly Smiley. She hopes her songs serve as tools for all believers in their worship and prayer lives.
