The much-loved Christian Rock song by Godfrey Birtill 'Just One Touch From The King' has been revamped and released for a modern-day audience by new British Christian Rock artist Rikki Doolan.

In an era littered with conflict, and a distinct social disintegration of Christian values, Doolan felt the need to record and release this powerful song, which exclaims that ‘Just One Touch From The King, Changes Everything.’

The original song was written, recorded and released by Lincoln based singer songwriter Godfrey Birtill in 2007 with much success and international acclaim.

Now 14 years later, fresh on the scene, Christian Rocker Rikki Doolan has brought the song, via his own new version, back into the public eye and ears.

Doolan is a Pastor and worship leader in East London based church Spirit Embassy. The Ilford based congregation is deemed to be the ‘fastest growing church in Europe’. The label comes from the pre-Covid growth of the church to a 1000 strong weekly Sunday congregation in just two years. This coupled with their emergence on Sky TV with their own 24hr Christian TV channel ‘GoodNews TV’ on channel 596. Pastor Rikki Doolan can be found frequently featuring on the channel.

Doolan released the song along with a music video, where he can be seen singing alongside a band with members originating from different continents of the world. His wife, model and singer Nichola Doolan, who originates from Zimbabwe, also features in the video.

The video also includes some interesting clips of political violence from the past 12 months, including scenes from USA and the UK with the message that ‘Just one touch from the King changes everything’.

Doolan said “It has been a more than turbulent twelve months or so here in the UK, and right across the globe. This song really provides a tangible and realistic answer to people’s problems, Jesus Christ. Mr. Birtill wrote a more than exceptional song, inspired by the Holy Ghost, and it was a great honour for me to cover it.”

“The song says, “God has stretched out to heal us”, and there couldn’t be a more important message for the people of the world, and the church today. It’s time to heal, and Jesus Christ is the way to do that.”

Doolan went on to say that this is the first of three single releases he will be doing this year and he will release his debut album in the Autumn of this year. He is also hoping that the Covid restrictions lift sooner rather than later so he can travel around the country ministering in song at different events and conferences.
