Nick & Becky Drake Unveil Worship For Everyone 'City On A Hill' Single

Sep 21 2015

Nick & Becky Drake's brand new single 'City On A Hill' has been released this week, their first new track since the album UNIQUE (2012). The duo were worship leaders at St Paul's Church, Hammersmith, London
before recently moving to St Luke’s Gas Street Birmingham.

It is part of their Worship For Everyone vision - to unite adults and children in worship. It will also be available on multitrack.com for the first time as part of putting the Worship For Everyone material into that format for use in schools and churches.

"In Matthew 5:14 Jesus tells us "you are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden." Our latest Worship for Everyone song carries this message from Matthew's gospel," Becky says.

"It's a song of declaration, a reminder to ourselves that when Jesus lives in and through us we can change the world. He is the light that shines through us for all to see, so we can be bold in declaring these words: 'I am a city on a hill, I am a light in the darkness.' There's strength in the song- like clothing ourselves in His armour. We've nothing to fear if God is in us and for us! Worship For Everyone is a new way of thinking."

"We used to talk about 'family worship' or 'all age worship'. We used to differentiate between 'kids' songs' and 'adult' songs'.

But now, it's time to bring down the barriers between what is considered 'for children' and 'for adults' and instead build the big family of God.

Worship For Everyone is the realisation that we gain as much from children as we give to them. It's about being together and encountering God together. The whole people of God in the presence of God, pouring our praises to God."
