iNTELLECT Goes Back to His 'Roots' On Latest Project

Apr 25 2024

After years of rapping and not putting out any projects, Roots was the first album that iNTELLECT released to digital streaming platforms in 2016.

How can we stand firm if our Roots do not reside deep within the soil? The life-sustaining nutrients that we need do not exist at the surface level. The process takes time, but in the end we are strong and difficult to move. We have to dig in and be ready to get a little dirty as God prepares us for His purpose.

“‘Roots’ is where it all started. The new version of this project not only updates the production, mixing, and mastering but provides the listener with an overall new listening experience.” - iNTELLECT

Closing in on a decade since, the Ohio emcee is firmly established as one of the hardest working and consistent artists in the Christian rap genre. It is only fitting that he revisits his debut release and creates a new encounter reflecting not only his growth, but shares the knowledge he has garnered along the way with listeners.

iNTELLECT has set a new standard of giving life to his previously released music, taking the opportunity to inject modern approaches to songs who’s message remains as relevant as when they were first put out. In a music industry that places errant priority on quantity as opposed to quality, iNTELLECT and Polished Arrow Music is keeping the focus on the aspects that create timeless art.

“Coming back and revitalizing this album has been an opportunity to remember what God was doing in my life at the time,” explained iNTELLECT. “I am tremendously thankful for what he has done and what he continues to do.”

The updated version of Roots hits digital streaming platforms on April 16, 2024 and includes production from longtime collaborators Brokenfinga and DJ Sean P.

In addition to the familiar production styles, the album also includes guest features from artists Philip Anthony, coreywordsmith, DJ Grubbernaut, Anwar Staton, and Polished Arrow Music artists Rich Colón and Procyse.
