MuteMath Confirm New Album 'Odd Soul'

Aug 08 2011

The title of the new album from alternative rock band MuteMath has now been confirmed as 'Odd Soul'. The band's third album is set to be released on 4th October 2011 as the follow up to their 2009 album 'Armistice'.

The new album will include title track 'Odd Soul' plus the single 'Blood Pressure'. The self-produced album was recorded over a period of six months at lead singer Paul Meany's home studio in New Orleans.

"We decided it would be refreshing to go about it completely different than the last one... we wanted to be left alone", explains Paul. "The idea of complete isolation was the only thing that appealed to us. No camera guys, no producers, no engineers, no record label people, no management... NO ONE would hear or comment on what we were doing until we were done. The three of us would share the new found guitar duties, lock down in my house in New Orleans and not come out until we had something we thought was great. No matter how long that took. Thankfully, it only took about 6 months. We really set to make this album with as little distraction as possible."

MuteMath will launch The Odd Soul Introduction Tour on 7th September in Charleston, South Carolina, concluding with a homecoming show in New Orleans on 21st October.
