FKA Promise Releases 'New Revival' EP
UK based Christian Singer/Songwriter, Multi-Instrumentalist/MC FKA Promise has recently released a three-song EP entitled 'New Revival'.
FKA Promise aims to bring together a range of musical styles which reflect his journey. Having come through a troubled life of pain and addiction, to a new life as a Christian, his music aims to testify to the goodness he has experienced, since being saved.
"I grew up in East London and was involved in crime and drugs from a young age", admits Danny, aka FKA Promise. "I always had music in my heart, and from 15 years old I was MCing hip-hop and drum and bass with a huge collective of East London DJ's and MC's. As a guitarist, i was always trying to find a way to bring live instrumentation into the music, and began writing my own stripped back style of acoustic UK Hip-Hop.
I had reasonable success with a couple of bands on the London circuit, and got a pretty loyal following gigging every week in Shoreditch, Camden and the West End. The last band I was in disintegrated as myself and another band member were both addicts. I ended up losing my home, and many friendships, and was close to suicide when I was directed to a Christian charity that had a rehab i could go to.That's when Jesus saved my life.
That was 5 years ago. Now I'm so blessed, I am reborn, I have built a new life in Him and can't imagine one without Him. I have an amazing wife, I play Worship guitar at an awesome church, I have strong relationships, strong focus, and a new song in my heart for the glory of God.
I released this EP as an introduction to the new me. There are more releases planned for the rest of 2020, and my hope is that others will engage with my journey, and resonate with my story of relying on God's grace, mercy and strength to get through the most troublesome times."
