Singer/Songwriter Melissa Oretade Releases 'Never Mind' Single From 'The Only God' Album
Singer/Songwriter Melissa Oretade has released 'Never Mind', the first single from her debut album, 'The Only God'. The single is based on personal experiences of wrestling with the past to gain triumphs through the Lord in the present.
Never Mind is one of ten original compositions written by Melissa. Her lyrics pull directly from scripture and are weaved together with themes of faith and perseverance, creating poetic narratives of second chances. 'The Only God' also includes two classic hymns, 'Near the Cross' sung with rich southern gospel bravado and 'Come Thou Fount'.
An empathetic Christian singer and songwriter, Melissa Oretade aims to share the love of Jesus Christ through songs of inspiration which provide encouragement and motivation. Melissa was born and raised in Hartford, Connecticut. Her sound most closely aligns with gospel, but is also influenced by various genres including soul, hip hop, musical theater, opera, jazz and R&B. Apart from her musical talents, Melissa holds a Bachelors in Molecular Biology & Biochemistry, a Masters in Elementary Education, and is finishing her Sixth Year in Reading and Curriculum Instruction. She has years of experience as an educator and has touched the lives of countless children, not only as a teacher, but as dedicated counselor and friend. An avid traveler, she now looks forward to continuing her journeys through spreading the gospel message one song at a time.
