Jesus Culture Releasing New Live Worship Album 'Love Has A Name'

Jul 04 2017

Jesus Culture and Capitol CMG announce the upcoming release of their new live worship album, Love Has A Name, releasing August 11. The digital preorder for the album is now available with an instant download for the song "Halls of Heaven", which listeners can check out with the new lyric video (below). Love Has A Name was recorded at Jesus Culture's home church in Sacramento, CA and features their worship leaders Kim Walker-Smith, Chris Quilala, Bryan & Katie Torwalt, Derek Johnson and more.

"Every day we are faced with negativity in media and in the world," shares worship leader Chris Quilala. "It's so important for us, the church, to be a light in the darkness and a beacon of hope and joy. Love Has a Name is all about declaring who God is. It's a strong proclamation of His name, the Name above every other name."

This release follows the group's 2016 highly impactful album, Let It Echo, which debuted at No. 16 on the Billboard Top Albums chart. Jesus Culture music has continued to create worship anthems for their local congregation as well as for those around the world, but it is at their church home that they experience these songs first during the writing and recording process.

"So much growth has taken place in our community in the last couple years," explains Katie Torwalt. "We have experienced and walked though more together so I believe the songs of worship run that much deeper! Relationship is so important in the kingdom and that is something that we are pursuing as a church right now. It can be messy and humbling but the reward of connection is so worth it. We believe creativity flows from a place of healthy connection."

"It was really fun to hear the positive feedback from our church family to the new songs," Kim Walker-Smith adds. "They were really excited and also felt like the songs really express the season we are in as a community."

Jesus Culture will be taking these songs along with their other renowned worship songs once again on the Outcry Tour beginning in August. The group has been part of this special worship tour from inception and have seen first hand the worship landscape across the country.

"I think UNITY was the thing that stood out to me as we've been on this tour," shares Derek Johnson. "I think the church is suppose to be very diverse, but diversity doesn’t have to mean disunity. Outcry provides a unique experience of so many people from so many different upbringings and backgrounds to come together and worship - to be together in Christ above all other things. I think it’s vital and that kind of unity in the church will shout to a watching world that we are a family. I remember at times just hearing the voices in the arenas and thinking we all just really love Jesus. There’s a simplicity and a togetherness that I think often happens easiest in worship."
