Listen Above Release Self-Titled Debut Album

Sep 15 2016

Listen Above, a Christian rock band from the New England area of the US have released their self-titled debut album.

"Our debut album is a fresh take on Contemporary Christian music", explains the band. " Influenced by the great rock records of the 1970s, but with a modern sound and message, this album is like nothing you've heard before. Check out the single "Save Us With Your Grace", on rock stations and internet streaming sites all over the US."

Listen Above is the sound of young people making hopeful music. Combining the classic hard rock of Deep Purple, the pop of Fleetwood Mac, and the contemporary Christian music of Matthew West, this group sounds like nothing else on the radio today. The band, directed by David Lauria (Range Of Motion, D.J. Lauria Band, St. Luke's Church Contemporary Choir), features lead singers Caroline Coleman and Emily Turtle, drummer Luke Imbusch (from The Rare Occasions), and many other up-and-coming talents.

“Save Us With Your Grace” combines melodic slide guitar in the style of George Harrison, with a driving chord change straight out of 90s alt-rock. Caroline’s beautiful Linda Ronstadt-inspired vocals shine on this cut. Contrast it with the “The Sound Of Universal Praise”, a folk-rock stunner with shimmering acoustic guitar. The 70s hard rock comes out on "Your Love Prevails", a song with a riff so heavy, it would be right at home on a Black Sabbath record. With great performances, strong writing, and clean production, this is a spectacular debut by a talented band.
