The Push Community Record Christmas Single With Comedy Spoof Video

Dec 05 2013

The Push Community have recorded a Christmas single called 'Tell The World', accompanied by a light-hearted spoof video, mimicking famous Christmas pop videos of the past.

'Tell The World' was originally written last year for the children at a local church to sing for advent. After being warmly received by both kids and adults alike, The Push Community decided to record the uplifting Christmas single, bringing the message of Christmas to everyone of all ages.

"We also thought it would be good to have a simple video to go with it, as we had actions for the kids (and adults) to join in with the song", explains Tom Mills of The Push Community.

"Then things got out of hand... We thought we'd manage to spoof East 17 (Stay Another day), but then Wham (Last Christmas), The Pogues (Fairytale of New York), Mariah Carey (All I Want For Christmas), and Band Aid crept in... plus a black santa and dancing reindeer.

We even convinced Paul Evans (of Delirious? drumming fame) to get involved. Pretty much every scene is a play-by-play reconstruction of one of the above videos."

The video (see right) has quickly picked up a following on YouTube, complete with comments praising its humour. "We had so much fun recording the song and making the video and so it's amazing now to see others laughing and singing along", Tom adds.

Earlier this year The Push Community released their debut album 'Everybody'. The British based group of friends, song writers, worship leaders and creative types collaborated to produce the 11 track album.

'Tell The World' is available now on NoiseTrade.com
