New Artist Melissa Records 'Beyond the Frame' With Phatfish's Mike Sandeman

Mar 04 2013

Twenty year old Brighton based singer/songwriter Melissa has recorded her first album 'Beyond The Frame', produced by Phatfish keyboard man Mike Sandeman.

Melissa is currently studying music at Sussex University and began writing songs at the age of nineteen after the sudden death of her fourteen year old brother Declan.

Her first song 'Voice In The Choir' was inspired by the extraordinary events surrounding her brother's death and expresses her unshakable confidence in God who had called Declan to heaven.

More songs quickly followed as her prolific talent developed. It soon became apparent that these songs of faith and God-centred living ought to be recorded. Melissa started collaborating with producer Mike Sandeman and over the next six months the 'Beyond The Frame' album was born.

With a vocal style that has a classical purity and yet retains a contemporary edge, Melissa is a versatile and rounded performer. From the classic sound of 'Voice In The Choir' to the pop sensibilities of tracks like 'Mr Maker', there is a richness and superb musical clarity.
