Canada's Manafest Releases New Album 'Fighter'

Apr 09 2012

The new album from Canadian Christian rapper Manafest, titled 'Fighter', is released this week. The 11 track album was produced by Seth Mosley (Newsboys, Me In Motion) and Adam Messenger (Justin Bieber, Chris Brown) and includes acoustic track 'Never Let You Go' plus title track 'Fighter'.

The title track looks at life's oppression with Manafest telling his story to encourage others going through their own hard times. "I wrote that on tour in New Zealand," he recalls of the songs lyrics. "My history is in there, and I was tearing up writing the lyrics; it was definitely touching a vein."

"Whether it's family, personal, or professional, it's been a fight,"
he continues. "I've had the willingness to bear pain to get through all this, and I'm winning now. Fighter was made to keep bringing a light to people; keep fighting."

The new album follows on from his critically acclaimed 2010 release 'The Chase'. Manafest, real name Chris Greenwood, was first noticed by Thousand Foot Krutch's Trevor McNevan, leading to him being signed by BEC Recordings for the release of his debut album 'Epiphany' (2005). That release was quickly followed by 'Glory' (2006) and 'Citizens Activ' (2008).
