Louder Than The Music

Nominations for the 43rd Annual GMA Dove Awards have been announced at a press conference in Atlanta presented by Grammy nominated R&B artist Montell Jordan and singer Jamie Grace. Among the most nominated artists were Casting Crowns, Natalie Grant, Jamie Grace and Laura Story, all receiving four nominations.

Casting Crowns are nominated for both Group of the Year and Artist of the Year, as well as Worship Song of the Year and Song of the Year for 'Glorious Day (Living He Loved Me)' from their recent album 'Come To The Well'. Natalie Grant is nominated for Female Vocalist of the Year plus Song of the Year, Worship Song of the Year and Pop/Contemporary Recorded Song of the Year for 'Your Great Name' taken from her album 'Love Revolution'.

Jamie Grace is nominated for New Artist of the Year in addition to Song of the Year and Pop/Contemporary Recorded Song of the Year for 'Hold Me', taken from her 'One Song At A Time' album which is nominated for Pop/Contemporary Album of the Year. Laura Story follows up her recent Grammy Award with Dove Award nominations for Female Vocalist of the Year and Artist of the Year, plus Song of the Year and Pop/Contemporary Recorded Song of the Year for 'Blessings' from the album of the same name.

Switchfoot's latest album 'Vice Verses' is nominated for Rock Album of the Year whilst the album's lead single 'Dark Horses' is nominated for Rock/Contemporary Recorded Song of the Year. Newsboys receive nominations for Rock/Contemporary Recorded Song of the Year for 'Born Again' and Short Form Music Video of the Year for 'Miracles'. Other notable nominees include recent Grammy winner Chris Tomlin (Male Vocalist of the Year, Praise and Worship Album of the Year, Short Form Music Video of the Year), LeCrae (Artist of the Year, Rap/Hip Hop Recorded Song of the Year, Rap/Hip Hop Album of the Year), Hawk Nelson (Rock/Contemporary Recorded Song of the Year, Rock/Contemporary Album of the Year, Short Form Music Video of the Year), The City Harmonic (New Artist of the Year) and Matt Redman (Praise and Worship Album of the Year).

The winners of the 2012 Dove Awards will be announced at the awards ceremony on 19th April 2012, which will be held at Atlanta's Fox Theatre. The show will be taped live and broadcast by The Gospel Music Channel.
