Jan 31 2011

Rock band Skillet have reached a new career milestone as the digital singles from their Gold certified 2009 album 'Awake' surpass 1.5 million digital downloads. The band is also celebrating their third consecutive mainstream Active Rock single with 'Awake & Alive'.

Mediabase listed Skillet as the eighth most played Active Rock artist of the year, with 'Monster' being the eleventh most played Active Rock song of the year. 'Awake' was also number 2 in the Top Christian Album Artist and Christian Album of 2010 charts. Near the close of 2010 Skillet were one of only 15 artists including the Black Eyed Peas, Lady Gaga and the Zac Brown Band to have remained on the Billboard Top 200 chart for 64 weeks or more.

The band will be a part of the first annual Avalanche Tour this spring. Avalanche will hit 35 US cities from 24th March until 8th May, where Skillet will support mainstream heavyweights Stone Sour and Theory of A Dead Man. Always a favorite at the Christian summer festivals, Skillet will headline several once again this summer, including Creation, Alive, Sonshine, Lifest, Kingdom Bound, Soulfest, Rock the Desert, Night of Joy at Disney World and more.
