Psalms Of David Releases Powerful New Single 'Conviction'
Emerging Christian singer/songwriter Psalms Of David returns with his second release on NRT Music, "Conviction," available everywhere today. The single follows his label debut, "He Loves You," which quickly became the artist's No. 1 streaming song in just four weeks and is the first single off his upcoming full-length album, Heart Surgery Vol. 1, releasing October 24.
"Conviction" is a heartfelt prayer asking God to reveal anything that creates distance between us and Him–especially sins we may feel too weak or unmotivated to confront. With raw honesty, the song draws a sobering connection between our rebellion and the wounds Christ endured: the nails in His hands and feet, the stripes on His back. Ultimately, it becomes a desperate cry for divine help–to put our flesh to death and to love and serve Him with our whole hearts.
"I wrote this song because I think it's easy to normalize sin, and I don't want to do that anymore," shares Ethan David (Psalms Of David). "It's a sobering reminder that my sin is the very reason Jesus had to hang on that cross–and I'm contributing to His death every time I choose it. If I can honestly ask God to search my heart, knowing it isn't clean, He'll reveal what needs to change, and my heart will break for that. As 2 Corinthians 7:10 says: 'For the kind of sorrow God wants us to experience leads us away from sin and results in salvation. There's no regret for that kind of sorrow.'"
