Tomb Slayer Releases New Recording of 'Brightly Beams' Hymn Feat Jamiel Walls
Tomb Slayer Records has released a joyful new recording based on the hymn 'Brightly Beams Our Father's Mercy.' It premiered Friday, August 1, 2025 on Tomb Slayer Radio and is available on Apple Music, Spotify, YouTube Music, and others
This new version features Jameil Walls as the lead vocalist. The musical arrangement is the first collaboration between Khristian Dentley and Coptic Storms. These artists combine the traditional 19th century hymn lyrics with a distinctive 21st century beat. The energy of Worship Pastor Jameil Walls performance combined with Dentley’s and Storms’ musical production creates a powerful and uplifting worship experience.
The hymn “Brightly Beams Our Father’s Mercy” is also known as “Let the Lower Lights Be Burning”. The original hymn was inspired by a sermon recounting the tragic real-life event of a ship that was lost during a storm while trying to enter a harbor. The lighthouse could be seen by the captain, but the ‘lower lights’ set along the shore had gone out.
The hymn reminds us that even if the lighthouse shines brightly — symbolizing the light and love of the Savior — the lower lights — symbolizing the actions and good works of individuals — are needed to help guide others toward safety and salvation.”
“I hope when people hear this song that they will be uplifted and sense the presence of the Lord upon it. I hope they would sense the bridge between the older saints and today so anyone who is listening will have a real, genuine encounter with the Lord in a fun, joyful way. - Jameil Wall
