Forrest Frank Makes Lemons Out of Lemonade With Inspired Track 'God's Got My Back'

Jul 26 2025

GRAMMY-nominated, award-winning artist Forrest Frank is making lemons out of lemonade with a new track inspired by a serious skateboarding injury last weekend that resulted in multiple back fractures. Putting his pain into the creation of "GOD'S GOT MY BACK," Frank documented the intimate and vulnerable process of the track's creation from bed in videos that have clearly resonated, having amassed nearly 30M combined views and over 15k organic UGC in just 3 days.

When asked by a fan, "How will you make fire music with a broken back, bro?" Frank decided to find out, taking the question to heart and creating the track in about two hours while laying in bed - flat on his back.

The lyrics speak to the full spectrum of emotions from his situation, singing "God’s got my back, even when I fall or get attacked; God's got my back, even when I’m low and full of lack, God’s got my back; Even when soul is full of sorrow, I don't have to worry about tomorrow; Why is that, because Gods got my back; Right there, never left, I can feel your presence in every single breath, sometimes we just got to take a rest; flowers like to bloom in the season that is best."

Frank has been on a break following his completely sold out "CHILD OF GOD II" Arena Tour and the release of his CHILD OF GOD II album, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top Christian Albums chart and No. 12 on Billboard's Top 200 Album Chart.

At radio, Frank currently has two songs in the Top 25 on the Mediabase and Billboard Christian radio charts with “Your Way’s Better” leading the way at No. 6 Mediabase Christian AC and No. 8 on Mediabase Christian Audience with 96 total stations on. At Billboard Christian AC, the song broke into the TOP 5 and is currently No. 7, while on Billboard Christian Airplay the song is currently No. 8. “Nothing Else” featuring Thomas Rhett has broken into the TOP 25 at Mediabase Christian AC (No. 25) and is No. 26 on Billboard Christian AC with 39 stations on. Frank’s weekly radio airplay impressions have risen from 7.3M in April 2025 to 13.5M as of July 23, 2025.
