Interview: Band Reeves
Texas based Band Reeves brothers Jeramy and Cody talk to Louder Than The Music about their recent signing with Centricity Music and the release of their new single, 'Outrun You.'
For those who haven't heard of you before, can you tell us a bit about yourselves and how you got involved in making music?
We are brothers from East Texas area. We started singing together when Jeramy was in high school. Eventually, as we each pursued relationships with Jesus, He began to give us songs. We tried to be faithful to use what he had given us in our local church, and He has just continued to grow the ministry. We are just thankful to get to be a part of His work! -Cody
Tell us about your recent single 'Outrun You' and what the inspiration behind it was?
It was our first co-write as Centricity artists & we were writing with Jeff Pardo. We brought an idea into the room based off my testimony. Trying to find life in so many different things & trying to satisfy the chaos in my heart. God was persistent to pursue a relationship with me no matter how far I tried to run. Romans 5:8-9 says, “God demonstrated His love towards us in that while we were yet still sinners, Christ died for us.” -Jeramy
So as your first single with Centricity Music, how did your signing to the label come about?
We crossed paths with Centricity at a showcase and we were invited to a retreat the label puts on for independent artists. We continued to build a relationship with their team until they asked us to be a part of the Centricity family! And we said, “I do!” -Jeramy
Do you have any plans to release more music in the near future?
Absolutely! We’ve got a bunch of songs we are super excited to release! We are just getting started! -Cody
What message would you like people to take from your music?
We want people to hear the message of the gospel... That in and of itself it is powerful and life changing! A life spent following Jesus is a good life! He wants to be involved in your everyday life. -Cody
If you could work with any songwriter, who would it be and why?
It would be awesome to write with Jonathan Gamble. He’s written a ton of songs that I really love & I think it would be great to write with him. -Jeramy
How would you define success in your career as an artist?
First of all, to see people come to know the Lord and have a closer walk with Him through our stories & songs... The other thing I would love to do is offer another sound that brings in Christian & Country music listeners. -Jeramy
What is your favorite album of all time?
Definitely “Third Day” - “Chronology.” -Jeramy
You're stuck on an island, it's hot, you only have enough battery life left to listen to one song on your phone. What track is it?
Definitely “Ice Ice Baby!” -Jeramy
What does the next year hold for you?
We are praying that we continue to see the ministry grow! Hopefully we will be out playing a lot & telling the world about Jesus... doing ministry as a family. -Jeramy
