Review: Various Artists
A Ton Of Worship 2

Jul 14 2010

The Ton of Worship series is back with it’s second installment, surprisingly they have entitled this next collection A Ton of Worship 2: 100 Worship Songs. Clever, and it's being released on a massive 5 track CD box set which includes songs from an impressive list of artists like Matt Redman, Delirious?, Martyn Layzell, Stuart Townend and Kate Simmonds.

Every one of these hundred songs has been used over the years to strengthen the church in times of worship, from Blessed Be Your Name which in my opinion is still one of the best written songs by Matt Redman, to tracks like We Want To See Jesus Lifted High and From Heaven You Came - some wonderful classic worship songs.

Musically a small amount of the older songs on this compilation can sound a bit dated, yet I’m sure people will still use these songs in their personal times of worship as they are wonderful powerful worship songs.

As a collection of songs and a box set you are getting real value for money, you can’t complain at getting 100 songs of worship in one place, but at the moment there seems to be a lot of compilation albums being released, so it's about choosing the compilation that best suits you. This compilation is perfect if you want a box set of some of the older, well known classics with a sprinkle of newer songs from the last few years. So get yourself A Ton of Worship 2 and enjoy.
