Tasha Layton Silences Doubt With 'Never'

Jun 25 2023

Renowned for a string of signature anthems that have inspired and encouraged listeners around the world since the dawn of the decade, chart-topping singer/songwriter and BEC recording artist Tasha Layton returns with “Never.” The powerful pop track, impacting radio and streaming platforms today, was penned by Layton, Keith Everette Smith, AJ Pruis and Matthew West-the hit songwriting team behind her 2022 #1 smash “How Far.”

Produced by Layton’s husband, GRAMMY and Dove Award-winner Keith Everette Smith, "Never" spotlights the hope and healing found only in Christ. Echoing a theme which hallmarks Layton’s life and music, "Never” unequivocally declares His promises: “There’s not a broken too broken for You/Will there ever come a day when You’re not holding me together?/You say, ‘Never.’”

"When our tears and knees both hit the ground and we're feeling the weight of life, sometimes we're tempted to think God has forgotten us,” shares Layton of the song’s message. “Has He forgotten the desire of my heart? ‘God, I see you working in other people's lives, but what about mine?’ My prayer is that this song serves as a reminder that you are never forgotten, never forsaken and never abandoned. That God is close to you in this exact moment. That whatever you are going through will never be wasted."
