Standing Phase Release New Self-Titled Single

Oct 28 2022

Standing Phase, a band consisting of singer/songwriter Charly Jay-Wood and guitarist/co-writer Luis Wood, have released their new, self-titled single, 'Standing Phase', out today!

'Standing Phase' is song about not giving up. Standing up for the things you believe in. It's also where the band got their name (based on a physics term), when you go from sitting to standing - that momentum that propels you forward and up.

"Yeah, I know it’s a bit unusual having the song title the same as our band name, but the song actually came first", Charly explains. "It didn’t feel right to change it to anything else. For me, this song speaks of my very personal, gritty, messy, stubborn determination to not let go of the promises God has spoken over me. I’m figuratively putting my stake in the ground when I sing, 'I’m standing for the truth, I won’t let go, I won’t be moved'."

Unashamedly gospel in it’s lyrics, it speaks about how God will never let you down, never forsake you, no matter what. He’s totally dependable, rock solid. He doesn’t change like the seasons, he doesn’t go back on promises. He is faithful, utterly dependable and loves us with a fierce passion.

This song features Mark Edwards (Katie Melua, Carleen Anderson) on Piano and was mixed and mastered by Texas based Producer Michael Child (Martin Smith, Gas Street Music). This is their 6th single, following on from ‘Dust' and ‘Learning Still’ earlier this year, and is being released through Wings Music Group.
