Emerging British Singer Ruth A Harris Releases 'In the Shadows'
Ruth A Harris, an emerging independent singer/songwriter, from Birmingham in England, is returning to music after a long time away with the release of her first single 'In The Shadows'.
"The song is my response to watching people close to me go through all kinds of grief, loss and pain but not being able to physically be there as a result of COVID 19 restrictions", Ruth explains. "It's a recognition that at times, while we are here on earth, walking with people in dark times and 'carrying' them through prayer is sometimes the best (and sometimes the only) thing we can do.
I feel that there is a place for people to sit in sadness, even if we do come from a place of faith and that God can meet us in those places. I have written the song deliberately so that it is accessible for people who do not yet have faith in Jesus- I believe that God can use music to carry his presence even when he isn't mentioned in them.
This piece of music was written, recorded and produced within my own home throughout lockdown. I hope that this will be the first of many singles to come!"
