UK Singer/ Songwriter LeahRae Releasing Debut Single 'CSML'

May 13 2021

'CSML' (Christ saved my life) is the debut single from UK Singer/ Songwriter LéahRae, following a tumultuous journey in the music industry. She abandoned a career in the music industry as a secular artist after an encounter with Jesus Christ. "Following the upheaval; it was only right that my first song coming back to the music scene relays the testimony of my life and the transforming power of Jesus", she explains.

"Some inspiration for the song came from an Alana Maria cover of Project Dreams by Roddy Rich that I came across on instagram. I thought the melodic flow would give me the perfect platform to deliver a clear and impactful message whilst evoking those relatable sad emotions associated with regrettable choices; with the plot twist being the hope on offer through Jesus Christ. I also remember hearing a song by a friend Christina at a gospel concert; as she sang ‘I’m not that girl that I used to be’ I remember how empowered the audience were as they chanted along - this energy and atmosphere is recreated on CSML."

LéahRae featured on Kingsley’s G.O.A.Ts & Sheep Album in summer 2020 on the single ‘Treasure’ which charted at No.2 in AstepFWD’s UK Christian R’n’B chart and more recently on ‘The Last Supper’ by Mumbz.

Her style is best described as rhythmic ballad with melodic flows. Artist’s influences include Beyoncé, Rihanna and Jhenè Aiko.
