HOMELANDER To Release Debut Single 'Waiting For'

Jan 29 2021

HOMELANDER release their first single 'Waiting For' on 29th Jan. The song has already had airtime from BBC introducing, gaining a great response so far. The current pandemic has allowed HOMELANDER the time to write and record an album. "We’ve had our good friend and other band member Tom living with us for most of this year, who we’ve written and produced it with", explains Naomi Elisa.

It’s the unique voice of singer and songwriter Naomi Elisa that makes these messages feel so authentic: born in Rwanda she has worked on a voluntary mercy ship and worked with street kids across the world her passion for peace, unity and justice shows. Naomi’s acting and modelling career (working alongside the likes of Judy Dench, Cameron Diaz and directors Tim Burton and Mike Leigh) brings creative experience that defines the Homelander song writing style. Songs such as Right Here and At Sea drive this home.

Songwriter and producer Tom Rowland has worked with McFly, Gary Phelan, Pete Bennett and the Lovedogs. His life has been a journey through addiction and depression sadly all too common these days. He has however found his ‘Homeland’ in this group and it shows when a song like ‘Parachutes’ brings such inspiration about being ‘helped to fly’ once again.

Classical and Jazz pianist Simon Peter (Bliss, English National Orchestra, Scott Stroman, k-pop singer Ji-min, and Jamiroquai producer Mike Nielsen) completes the Homlander trio. He has toured the world and brings a message of hope whoever he goes. Simon’s experience is that during the darkest times art finds its voice: when his sister was dying of cancer he released a solo album ‘Simon Peter - Natural’ a collection of piano works that expressed peace during the process of grief. His influence is heard throughout the album and particularly in Air and Pure North Star.

At this point in 2020 it feels like the world needs more bands like Homelander to help guide us through difficult experiences and be there for us in the highs and lows. As Tom says, “To every evil, there is a good. To every doubt, there is hope. There IS another way, and you just maybe have to look outside of yourself to get it. Help is only round the corner, and can come from the most unexpected places, but only if you are willing to be helped.”
