Rivers & Robots Guitarist Philip Shibata Announces 'Sun / Moon' Solo Album
Philip Shibata, a Japanese Christian living in the UK, and the guitarist of indie worship band Rivers & Robots, releases his solo album 'Sun / Moon' on February 12th 2021. Produced by Jonathan Ogden (lead vocalist of Rivers & Robots) the album features artists like Montell Fish, Lauren Horii and more. Philip describes his music as "neo-soul/R&B with a lot of chill vibe grooves", and is already known for his 2018 EP 'Seasons to Seasons'.
"This album is all about my life journey from being a Japanese born Canadian, finding my faith in Japan, and living in countries like Israel, Germany, and now currently in Manchester UK", explains Philip.
"My heart was always to support worshipers and worship bands who sing the word of God (seed). And I'd like to think that my music is what prepares the grounds for those seeds to land on more good soil. So my lyrics are purposely made to give more space for non Christians to hear, question, or think. Great thing is every song is scripture based and pointing to Jesus."
Philip has already released two singles from the forthcoming album, 'Drifting' and 'Getting Over', with third single 'Sad World (feat. Earlybird)' due to be released in January.
