Switchfoot Begin Work On New Album

Oct 16 2020

Switchfoot have confirmed that they have started work recording their new album. Announcing the news in a message to fans, the band wrote, "Yes, friends, the rumors (that we both accidentally created and confirmed) are true... We're OFFICIALLY working on a new album!

If you tuned in to last month's live stream, you caught first wind when we picked up a surprise call from our producer Tony Berg on air during the stream. So, if the word is already on the street, why are we talking about it now you ask? Simple, we are a community. We're on this wild ride together.

Back when we started out, we'd receive letters in the mail and write back to as many as humanly possible... These emails and live streams are the modern form of that community & connection.

As for the new album, we'll save the "quarantine-tunes" & "this is going to be a special collection of songs" cliches... We're still so early in the process of writing and recording, it's hard to say exactly what the finished piece will look like. But we can say this - It will be real... and it will be raw. Much like the year that we've all endured.

We want to bring you along with us as we create this next album. Keep your eyes on your inboxes and on the live streams the next few months. Now that the cats leapt out of the bag, we might as well show you all some of it's tricks, eh?"
