Read More American R&B singer/songwriter Montell Jordan has begun writing for a new worship album, tentatively planned for a 2014 release.
After becoming a worldwide success with his number 1 hit single 'This Is How We Do It' in 1995, and multiple follow up hits, Jordan left the music business in 2010 to become the worship leader at Victory World Church in Norcross, Georgia.
Jordan's first CCM album, 'Shake Heaven' (2013), included a duet with Dove Award winning artist, Chris August titled 'You Are' (see video below).
The creative process for Montell Jordan and Victory World Music's next album saw Jordan recently have a songwriting session with fellow recording artist, songwriter and worship leader, Ross King (Todd Agnew, Jimmy Needham).
The pair (pictured above) collaborated in Atlanta at the Victory World Recording Studio to begin working on songs for the new project.
"Ross and I have complementary writing styles so it's really comfortable working in the studio together," says Jordan. "I love the chemistry we have together and the stories we tell through music."
Besides handling worship leader duties at Victory World Church, Jordan has a starring role in an upcoming Christian based film, 'Adopted'. The movie is being produced by Fizz City Films and is being directed by Georgia Tanner, with the screenplay written by Scott Pryor. Jordan plays the role of Brian, a man who struggles with alcoholism while desiring to lead those he loves to Christ. Filming will end mid-February and more details will be forthcoming soon.
