This is the first I have heard of MewithoutYou so I was surprised to find out that they have been together releasing albums since 2000. In fact, in 2005 they won mtvU's "Left Field" award for most original artist so it's kind of bizarre that they seem to be flying so under the radar as it were.

It's All Crazy! It's All False! It's All A Dream! It's Alright certainly grabs your attention and looking at the track titles I was expecting something reminiscent of Fall Out Boys 'From Under The Cork Tree' where all the titles are stories in themselves and seem to have little to do with the songs but I couldn't have been further from the mark.
Aaron Weiss' vocals are incredibly reminiscent of R.E.M's Michael Stipe and you can kind of imagine that their early demo's sounded a lot like this album. If you mix that with some classic Crash Test Dummies and you have the mix of rock, emotion and folk that make up this album.
The songs are pleasant enough with some catchy melodies but personally I like a little more lyrical depth that this offers. The band apparently claim not to be a Christian act but there album is too God focused for them really to be able to deny it. Unfortunately for me the spirituality is too light and the lyrics too soft.
If you like R.E.M or the Crash Test Dummy's or just some light hearted country, rock tinged folk music then give it a go but I'm afraid I'll be taking a pass.
