YB is originally from Pine Bluff, AR, but has spent most of his life on the road, not quite belonging in any one place. Despite a challenging upbringing as one of 8 children in a single mother home, YB found the presence of God at a young age. However, he remained wary of Christianity for many years because of the high commitment he knew it would require following Christ.

It wasn't until his college years, when a local college pastor in Camden, AR paid for YB to go to a Passion conference, that he decided that "his life needed reworked." YB surrendered all of himself, including his love for music, to Christ, and God began to rework him from the inside out.

He debuted his first Christian Hip Hop album "Salvation" in 2014 and after a string of grabbing releases, YB went on to make a statement in March of 2018 with the release of “GSHS2” which peaked at 20 on the iTunes Christian & Gospel charts! Now he is back with a new album titled 'Fire & Desire'.

I really felt relaxed and chilled listening to these new songs from YB. This album it full of important and hard topics but has an easy listening hip hop feel to it. When artists like NF & Manafest release albums they have songs that get up in your face, but YB takes a whole different approach. When some artists like to kick the door down and tell you things, YB opens the door for you and sits down at a table with a smile and chats to you. Both artists have similar topics, but their musical approach is very different.

Of course this isn’t a comparison website, this is about YB, and the great album he has produced here. He has some really good songs, I mean really good songs on here. I must add that a special mention must be given to the tracks 'Open Letter 2' and 'Clarke Kent', both of theses songs blew me away. Also if you enjoy the song 'Clark Kent', wait until the end of the album as there is a brilliant acoustic version of the track to finish off what I can only describe as a solid album from an exciting talent.
