This is the first time I have heard of Julian Drive, but what a fantastic band, from the off this is a very complete album, with strong vocals, tight band structure and a full sounding album. My Coming Day is the first album from Julian Drive. Not many bands I have heard of would have produced an album of this quality, and sounding so powerful, for their first album. Julian Drive were the winners of the 2004 Exalting Him national Talent Search, something to tell your mother eh..!! From this album I will not be surprised if they really shine as a live band, with their big rifts, heavy bass and stadium anthem power drumming (I just made that phrase up, I promise to never use it again). Let's talk about the tracks, the second track could have easily been used on a American TV show like The OC. Track Cry takes a more mellow sound but also with its big Gisbon guitar riff and power chorus you're not far away from that big sing-a-long chorus.
Vocally Shane Bower has a very powerful voice. Overall a powerful, exciting and solid debut album from a band who look and sound the part. A small let down is there isn't much diversity or even difference in tracks, but if you're looking for a band with amps to eleven, big guitar riffs and power choruses then Julian Drive are for you.
