Tribe includes 4 brand new songs from Dave Miller & Andy Hatherly including the anthem of the weekend ‘Tribe’ written for the event. The track list includes the songs: ‘Praise The Lord (Victory In His Hands)’, ‘Fill Us Again’, ‘King Of Love’, ‘Tribe’, ‘What A Beautiful Name’ and ‘Glorious Day’.
It all sounds very exciting. I kind of wish I was there. Once I had a good listen to the four tracks, I REALLY wished I was there. 'Glorious Day' starts off as an acoustic track that turns into a wonderful praise anthem. As all great anthems do, it takes time to build - but once there, there is no stopping a song like 'Glorious Day'.
The song 'Tribe' itself mixes together a driven beat and U2 esq guitars and a Planetshakers esq delivery of the melody and lyrics. The energy on this one is infectious. 'Fill Us Again' takes a while to get going but once it does, wow. It was a 'stop what you were doing' moment and join in with the worship leader in asking God to "Come Fill Us Again.... pour out your spirit, hungry for more".
'What A Beautiful Name' is an amazing track. I would add it as one of my favourite tracks I have heard over the last few years. The bridge section is something else. You really need to hear this song for yourself.
The harmonies on the hushed and intimate 'King Of Love' work so well, as any good worship song does these days. The song grows in stature and sound level, ending up as a blast of music that will leave you with your hands in the air giving it your all in worship.
I wasn't sure what I was going to get with this release. Yet you always hope an album will blow you away and this one does that. This is a bunch of amazing worship songs that want to take a listener that step closer to the throne room. You can't really ask for more.
The quality of the album is as you would expect from a Vineyard release, fantastic. Yet the different vocalists that lead each song are all as strong as each other. They all add a different element to the singing, but all leading with the same passion.
