Ian Yates Releasing New Single 'Forgiven'

Feb 13 2020

Ian Yates drops his second single, 'Forgiven', on 21st February 2020, taken from his new album 'Mystery' set for an April 3rd 2020 release. It’s a 3 minute 26 second up-tempo acoustic pop song brimming from intro to outro of positivity and life both musically and lyrically.

'Forgiven' is a celebration song. Celebrating and declaring that we have been forgiven, that there is no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus and There’s nothing that can separate us from the love of Christ.

A lot of the song is taken straight from Romans 8:34-39. "I love this quote from Joseph Prince - ‘Knowing that you are completely forgiven destroys the power of sin in your life’.

My hope is that as we sing this song we will fully know that we are forgiven and nothing can separate us from God’s love."

Ian is a Christian worship leader and songwriter from Liverpool, UK. He leads musical worship at his home church Bootle Elim, and is married to Kate. They have 3 young children, Jackson, Elijah and Abiah.

September 2016 saw the release of Ian's 4th album, (his 3rd on 7Core Music) 'Awaken To Love' to rave reviews, and included ‘No Longer I’ co-written with Matt Redman, and the UK Step Fwd chart number 1 single ‘High Wire’.

It was followed up in 2019 with his 'Deconstruction vol. 1' mini album which contained the singles 'Blackout', "Belly Of The Beast', 'Hope Beyond Hope' and 'Deconstruction' all of which proved popular on various Spotify editorial playlists and gained radio airplay across many stations in the UK, USA and Australia. ‘Belly Of The Beast’ and ‘Hope Beyond Hope’ both received 10/10 reviews from Tony Cummings at UK’s Cross Rhythms. Hope Beyond Hope featured in CCM Magazine’s ‘Best Thing I Heard Today’ in the USA, while ‘Deconstruction’ featured in Spotify’s official ‘New Indie and Alternative’ playlist.

This is a powerful album which will speak to many. I love it for the style and the theme. It's just what we need. (Deconstruction Vol. 1)
Rob Allwright - One Man In The Middle 10/10

Each track is as good as the next but the unrelentingly explosive "Belly Of The Beast" is a master class in thundering, meaningful rock that - like the rest of this first volume - showcases Yates' writing and vocal skills in one fell swoop. (Deconstruction Vol. 1)
Lins Honeyman - Cross Rhythms 10/10

The record feels genuine from start to finish and holds the attention of the listener while still inviting them to get lost in well-crafted moments of worship. (Awaken To Love)
Caitlin Lassiter - New Release Today 4/5

This album is track after track of pure quality. (Awaken To Love)
Jono Davies - Louder Than The Music 5/5

To my mind, Ian Yates is one of the best British worship leaders and songwriters and is up there with the Redman’s and Hughes’. (Awaken To Love)
Tony Cummings - Cross Rhythms 10/10
