New Athlete Single 'Black Swan Song' Released

Nov 08 2009

Athlete have now released their brand new single 'Black Swan Song' taken from their recent album 'Black Swan'. The CD single features a brand new track called 'Cut The Map' and the single is also available for download from iTunes where it comes bundled with the song's epic video and a remix version by Jonny Pilcher who plays guitar on tour with the band.

Athlete are releasing the single in support of the Royal British Legion, as the band explain: "We are donating proceeds from the sale of the single to the Royal British Legion's Poppy Appeal so even if you don't normally buy singles we would ask you to do so this time around to support such a great cause." At least 30pence from every single is pledged to the charity.

The Royal British Legion have also asked the band to play a couple of songs at The Silence in Trafalgar Square, London, on Wednesday 11th November. "If you are free that morning come along at 9.30am and join us in remembering members of the Armed Forces who have given their lives for the freedom we enjoy today", says the band.

Athlete will be performing at a number of venues around the UK in December as part of their tour:
4th December - Bristol Anson Rooms
5th December - Glasgow ABC
6th December - Manchester Ritz
8th & 9th December - Shepherds Bush Empire, London
10th December - Wolverhampton Wulfrun Hall
