Gareth Hides Releasing New Album 'Rescue'

Sep 04 2019

Gospel singer-songwriter Gareth Hides releases his second album, 'Rescue', on 20th September. The
latest offering features 10 brand new tracks and was recorded mostly in Lviv, Western Ukraine at Fonia Records.

Gareth has a passion to communicate the message of the Good News of Jesus through the songs he writes, which comes through with bold and urgent lyrics.

Rescue features a blend of different styles, more piano-driven Pop-Rock than Gareth’s previous offerings, though there is still room for some folk influence. The lead single from the album and the ninth track, Send Us Out, is an anthem and a prayer, asking the Lord of the harvest to send His people out, to be bringers of the Gospel in our generation. The second track, No Burden, which tells of the power of Jesus to lift burdens and break chains, features the solo talents of Kiev-based international saxophonist Andre Chmut. The album also features a new Christmas song and a simple, reflective arrangement of “The Glory Song,” a classic hymn by Charles H. Gabriel (writer of ‘I Stand Amazed’). Gareth has also written a new song, Safe in the Arms of Jesus, inspired by the Fanny Crosby hymn of the same name and featuring some of her original lyrics. Another highlight is He Was Despised, a song inspired by Isaiah chapter 53, looking again at the meaning of the cross of Jesus. The album has been mastered by Denis Blackham (Skye Mastering).

The album comes as a followup to 2014’s well received debut album, 'All The People', and hot off the heels of last year’s EP, 'We Will See'. The physical CD features 5 bonus tracks taken from some of Gareth’s previous releases. Gareth will be playing a free ‘album launch’ gig on Wednesday 25th September, 7:30pm start, at the Grosvenor Pub in West London.
