Singer/Songwriter PJ Anderson Releasing 'Light and Dark' EP

Oct 09 2018

Christian singer/songwriter, PJ Anderson releases his latest project, LIGHT+DARK, to Spotify, iTunes and other digital outlets on October 5, 2018 with pre-save and pre-order options available now.

LIGHT+DARK marks Anderson’s sixth studio release, his last being an album entitled Mercy, Mercy, which debuted at #7 on the iTunes Christian/Gospel charts in June 2016. The songs on LIGHT+DARK explore the overwhelming sense of division in our world and the never-ending battle of good versus evil, light versus dark.

LIGHT+DARK begins with an instantly familiar song, Sing Forever, that draws you in to worship with a melody that you feel like you’ve known forever. The words remind us that “in the darkest dark of night and the brightest part of life” the unshaking love of God never wavers. “Sing Forever is a powerful reminder to me of the importance of always calling upon and praising the name of God, no matter how dark or how light. He is worthy of our praise, forever” says Anderson.

The “lightness” of Sing Forever is immediately contrasted with the dark social justice anthem, Made For More. “I wrote this song after hearing about the Parkland school shootings. That battle of light and dark was raging within me as I was saddened, infuriated and scared --scared of what kind of world we are raising our children in. But, that battle led me to a call to speak truth and love.” Made For More calls us all to arms, but to a different kind of arms. We are called to love.

PJ has been invited to perform at World Youth Day in Panama City, Panama in early 2019. World Youth Day is a worldwide encounter with the Pope (Pope Francis) which is celebrated every three years. Millions of Catholic/Christian youth from around the world will meet in Panama to deepen their faith, grow closer to Christ and be a youthful witness of hope to the world. “As we hide in the shadows of light and dark, we all desire one common thing: LOVE. That love is freely given by our Savior. His mercy shakes us to the core. Now it’s our turn to “take all this love and wear it out,”Anderson reflects.

Joining PJ on LIGHT+DARK is an all-star list of musicians including: Britt Edwards, Producer, Keys and Bass (The Swift); Guitarist and co-producer, John Bertucci; Alan Luster on drums; Vocalists, Christine Simpson, Sarah Kroger, Rebecca Roubion and Gabe Burdulis. The EP was mixed by Jared Fox (Crowder, Jordan Feliz, Switchfoot, Michael W. Smith, Gungor, Ben Rector, Dave Barnes). LIGHT+DARK was mastered by Nathan Dantzler (Hillsong, One Direction, Jon Foreman, Newsboys, Kari Jobe, Colton Dixon, TobyMac).
