UK Duo Elma Releasing Debut Album 'Dreamland'
New UK duo Elma, comprised of songwriter, guitarist / multi-instrumentalist Mark Ellis (best known as drummer of controversial indie band Hamfatter) and singer Ellie Gillett, release their debut album 'Dreamland' on September 28th, 2018.
Straight out of university, Ellie’s classically trained, intimate vocal style and irresistible personality have proved an instant hit with the duo’s audiences. As an antidote to the crazy exposure surrounding Hamfatter’s performance on Dragon’s Den and the hectic UK tour after the band’s indie chart success, Mark began penning simple, heart-felt songs which harked back to a less cynical age of pop music. When Mark first heard Ellie singing he immediately knew hers was the perfect voice to bring these songs to life, both on stage and on record.
Elma were quickly scouted for support slots with the Beta Band’s Steve Mason (The Junction, Cambridge) and cult ‘80s band The Bible (Under the Bridge, Chelsea), alongside several highly-acclaimed headline performances. Armed with a clutch of authentic, unforgettable songs including the single 'Slo-Mo', their debut album 'Dreamland' is set to earn them many more fans.
