Robyn Christian Releasing New Album 'Smile'
Christian Pop Artist and singer/songwriter Robyn Christian releases her new album 'Smile' on 21st September, featuring first single 'Dance It Out'.
As a little girl Robyn's mother would always turn on Disney movies like “The Little Mermaid”, “Beauty and the Beast”, and “Lion King.” Cinderella sings about believing in dreams that had been put in her heart. For Robyn, God placed the dream of singing in her heart when she was just a little girl. At first, Robyn was mesmerized by the Disney Princesses she had seen at Disneyland. She even wished to be the voice of the first Hispanic Princess. Now, Robyn is mesmerized by God and the plans He has for her and her ministry.
Influenced by artists such as Selena, Mariah Carey, Brittany Spears and LeAnn Rimes, Robyn took the first step of her journey when she was a little girl. Her parents enrolled her in a Fine Arts elementary school with a focus on performing. Looking back to those days, Robyn has said, “There was actually a piano in our classroom and the teacher would play for us as we sang songs. It was amazing!” Throughout her educational career she has been a part of a Rock and Rhythm class and a band which held concerts for the school as well.
Robyn has said before, “I feel like God has been preparing me for this moment I’m in. God put a song in my heart a long time ago and now I get to watch my career blossom as I do it for Him”. And blossom it has. In 2004, Robyn had the opportunity to sing The National Anthem at the Democratic National Convention in Boston. Along with that memorable experience she also won an award for Best Song in the New Mexico Music Awards for her song “Out Of This World.” Robyn was also nominated for Best Music Video for her song “Spirit Moves”. However out of all of those achievements she considers her relationship with God to be more important.
Like her Disney Princesses, Robyn’s spirit is one full of laughs and smiles. Yet, she has known her share of heartbreak. However, as with everything, God used her heartbreak to bring along her own Prince Charming who has been her biggest supporter. Driven and determined, Robyn loves every part of the journey she is on; always looking forward to the next chapter in her story.
