Dove Award 2013 Nominations For Matt Redman, Chris Tomlin, TobyMac & Martin Smith

The nominees for the 44th Annual Dove Awards 2013 were announced last night, 21st August 2013, by the Gospel Music Association at a press conference in Nashville's Allen Arena.

Among the most nominated artists were worship leaders Matt Redman and Chris Tomlin, with nine Dove nominations each. Kristian Stanfill and Crowder (David Crowder*Band) received six Dove nominations each. Rapper Lecrae notched up five, whilst singer tobyMac earned four.

Matt Redman followed up his double-Grammy win with nine nods include this year's top categories for Songwriter of the Year, Song of the Year and Contemporary Christian Performance of the Year for his hit song '10,000 Reasons (Bless the Lord)'. The multi-week Number 1 song also received a nomination for Pop/Contemporary Song of the Year and Praise & Worship Song of the Year.

Chris Tomlin's nine nods include Praise & Worship Album of the Year, Pop/Contemporary Album of the Year, Artist of the Year and Song of the Year for his song 'Whom Shall I Fear (God of Angel Armies)'. Chris Tomlin is also one of five nominees in this years Artist of the Year category, alongside Francesca Battistelli, Lecrae, Tamela Mann and TobyMac.

British singer/songwriter, and former Delirious front man, Martin Smith, received two nominations - Spanish Language Album of the Year for his album 'Dia De Redencion (Day of Redemption)', and Special Event Album of the Year for 'Live From New York' which he recorded with Jesus Culture.

In the coveted New Artist of the Year category there were nominations for Capital Kings, Colton Dixon, For King & Country, Rhett Walker Band and Tasha Cobbs.

The 2013 Dove Awards show will take place on 15th October 2013 at Allen Arena, and will be broadcast on 21st October on the UP! Television Network. Voting for the final winners will run from 3rd September through to 24th September.
