Flyleaf Release 'New Horizons' & Say Goodbye To Lead Singer

Nov 01 2012

Platinum-selling hard rock bank Flyleaf released their third full-length album 'New Horizons' this week. The band worked on the album in Los Angeles with longtime producer Howard Benson (Bon Jovi, My Chemical Romance).

The band previously released 'Memento Mori' (2009) and 'Remember To Live' (2010), and spent 2011 writing for their next record. "It was simply about writing and seeing what happened. There was so much freedom in that" Jared Hartmann (guitar) exclaims. Sameer Bhattcharya (guitar, vocals) excitedly echoes that sentiment. "There was more of a natural feeling, and there were absolutely no boundaries or rules. We've grown as songwriters. It's nothing we try to force. We let the songs be themselves."

'New Horizons' will be the band's final album with long time singer Lacey Sturm, who announced her decision to leave the band recently. Flyleaf have revealed that Kristen May, formerly of the band Vedera, will be stepping in as the band's lead singer for future tour dates in support of 'New Horizons'.

"We are excited for this new chapter in the history of Flyleaf, and hope that our fans will accompany us as we continue on this journey to bring hope and inspiration through our music", says bass player Pat Seals.
