Sanctus Real Release First Single 'Promises' From Forthcoming Album 'Run'

Oct 15 2012

Grammy-nominated band Sanctus Real will release their sixth studio album 'Run' on 5th February 2012. The first single from the upcoming new album is titled 'Promises' and is available on iTunes now (see buy links, right).

"We are excited to say that we can officially tell you the name of our new album will be 'Run' and it will be released on February 5th!" confirmed the band on Facebook this month.

"Today is the day you can get your hands on 'Promises,' the first single from our upcoming album. It's available right now on iTunes. We hope this song reminds you to be encouraged by what God's word says in Romans 8:28."

Discussing the single's artwork, the band's drummer Mark Graalman said "The circles represent the eternal, never ending promises we have from God through Jesus Christ. We belong to Christ Jesus alone and exist to honor and glorify Him alone."

Bass player Dan Gartley adds, "We've been hard at work in the studio over the last couple months recording our sixth album! We're very excited about these new songs and can't wait for everyone to hear them."

Over the course of their career, the Dove Award-winning band lead by frontman Matt Hammitt has released five albums, racking up seven Number 1 singles, six of which landed in the Top 5. Sanctus Real released their last album, 'Pieces of a Real Heart', in March 2010.

Matt Hammitt released a special solo album titled 'Every Falling Tear' last year to coincide with the first anniversary of his son Bowen's first open heart surgery. The album featured songs he wrote as Bowen, which means small victorious one, went through a season of surgeries for a rare heart condition.
