Newsboys Extend 'God's Not Dead Tour' In US & Visit Europe

Apr 25 2012

As the Spring leg of the Newsboys God's Not Dead Tour comes to a close, the band have announced plans to extend the tour with 35 extra dates later in the year. Joining the fall leg of the tour will be the bands Building 429 and Luminate. Compassion International will continue their highly successful partnership with Newsboys in raising awareness and sponsorships for children overseas during the tour, with over 4,000 children having already been sponsored through the tour so far.

During the 60+ cities covered by the spring leg of the tour, a remarkable 31 venues have sold out. Once the spring dates finish in May, the band will head to Europe to perform at the UK's BigChurchDayOut event on 2nd June, Himmelfahrt Festival in Germany on 7th and 8th June, and The Baltic Youth Festival in Latvia on 9th June.

Newsboys are promoting their latest album 'God's Not Dead', released in November, which saw them put their signature touch on covers of seven popular church worship songs in addition to five new original Newsboys songs. The band's new front man Michael Tait is reunited with his former DC Talk band mate Kevin Max on the album as they share the vocals on title track and first single 'God's Not Dead (Like A Lion)' which held the top spot on Billboard's CHR chart for seven weeks in a row.
