Newsboys Release New Worship Album 'God's Not Dead'
Newsboys return with their new rock-driven modern worship album 'God's Not Dead', released today, 15th November 2011. The album sees Newsboys put their signature touch on covers of seven popular church worship songs in addition to five new original Newsboys songs.
Seven tunes that have all recently topped the Church Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) chart are included, such as 'God's Not Dead (Like A Lion)' from Daniel Bashta, 'Forever Reign' written by award-winning songwriter and producer Jason Ingram and Hillsong's Reuben Morgan and recorded by One Sonic Society and Hillsong, 'Revelation Song' (Gateway Worship and Kari Jobe), 'Your Love Never Fails' (Jesus Culture) and the Hillsong classic 'Mighty To Save' which was also included on Newsboys 'Born Again' album.
The album's original songs include 'The King is Coming', 'Here We Stand', and 'All The Way'. The band's new front man Michael Tait is reunited with his former DC Talk band mate Kevin Max as they share the vocals on title track and first single 'God's Not Dead (Like A Lion)' and also on 'I Am Second', described as the edgiest song on the album.
'God's Not Dead' was produced by Seth Mosley, who was also co-producer on 'Born Again', the band's previous album which sold over 280,000 units and scored three number 1 radio hits after the album debuted at number 4 on the main Billboard 200 charts in its first week. "The message is unchanging whether you look at a song as rock or worship. God's not dead, let's worship Him. We serve a living God!" says Tait.
