The Lord Bless And Keep You is the second album from The Hudson Taylors. The band consist of British worship leader Noel Richards, Belfast's Brian Houston and America's Wayne Drain. The new album is the follow up to the trio's debut album 'Hurricane' and was recorded in Ireland with Brian Houston taking on the role of producer. The three established singers have all been releasing solo albums in their own right for many years, but first got together to record an album as The Hudson Taylors in 2002.

The Lord Bless And Keep You is a fast paced acoustic country rock kind of jig, my favorite part of this opening number is the melodic chorus. The American country feel continues into the second track We Don't Need Religion with an opening harmonica and one beautiful toned guitar singing out the chorus of "We don't need religion but we could use the love of God". With these haunting tones ringing out, the whole band then kick back in with what is a slow bluesy feel, I love this song. Another great track on the album is As For Me And My House which again is bluesy and country with some harmonica work which has the traditional American country sound.
On the whole, the album is a mix of new and older songs, with some you might find familiar, like the new modern country version of Praise God (From Whom All Blessings Flow) which was actually a real treat to hear.
By now you will gather that this album is a mix of country, acoustic rock, blues and everything in-between. The musicianship is of top quality, with creative playing. Add on top of that some great modern country sounds and you then end up with some innovative songs that are catchy and exciting to listen to. This will not be for everybody, but for me these guys are onto a winner with this album.
